You will only receive Cogwheel, Tinker, and Meta gems that you do not already have, so hold onto your unwanted gems so that you can get tꦫhe m🐈ost variety.

How To Socket And Remove Gems

To socket a gem onto a piece of armor, simply go into your profile and shift + right click one of your armor pieces. A mꦰenu will then open up showing you the available slot🌳s.

Not all types of gems can go into all types of armor; this will be covered later.

Once you've gotten the gem you like, drag it into a spare slot and press 'Apply'.

To unsocket a gem, use the 'Extract Gem' ability given to you at the beginning of the event and then click on the chosen armor piece. This will remove one of the slots and put the gem back in your inventory. Another way is to simply drag the gem out when the menu is open.

Gem Types And Where To Use Them

There are four different types of gems: Meta, Tinker, Prismatic, and Cogwheel Gems. Each type applies different abilities or boosts to your character, and can only fit on certain types of armor.

Meta Gems

Meta Gems provide a powerful and unique ability to your character. These can only be socketed on your helmet, which will only have one slot available. Additionally, the ability will scale to the item it is applied to.

Tinker Gems

Tinker Gems also give special abilities, ranging from various shields to meteors that stun your enemy. You can have a total of 12 slots; three each from the shoulders, wrist, gloves, and belt.

Prismatic Gems

Prismatic Gems are one of the more common gems, and are crucial in increasing your base stats. There are eight different types of gems, each corresponding to different🃏 st🧸ats. Below is a table showing what stat each type gives.

You will most likely find them in their common, or 'chipped' form, giving you a singular boost to the specific stat. Gems can be upgraded to 'flawed', then 'masterful', and finally 'perfect' forms, giving you increased buffs each time.

To upgrade a gem, you will need three of the same type. Then, go into your inventory and right-click to combine them into a more powerful version. For instance, y⛦ou will need three Chipped Deadly Sapphire to make one Flawed Deadly Sapphire, and so on.

Cogwheel Gems

Finally, Cogwheel Gems contain other classes' abilities, and are put in a singular socket on your boots.
