These two will be invaluable to you, not just for the mission, but for the boss fight itself. You'll have to deal with a lot of magical hits in this fight, but they are fairly simple to deflect for easy Spirit Gauge gains.

Zhang Bao Battle Strategy

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Zhang Bao stands in front of our main character about to fight

This fight is straightforward enough, but Zhang Bao will throw out a ton of fire magic during the encounter. You'll also find that he likes to teleport around the arena, constantly putting distance between you if he's getting caught in a combo.

If he teleports away, try and rush towards him to continue attacking, otherwise, you might lose your Spirit Gauge and miss𝔍 out on a big chunk of damage.

If you're far enough away, you can try and deflect into his fireball attacks for easy Spirit Gauge increases.

The timing is lenient and all ma▨gi🃏c can be deflected without taking damage.

His basic attacks are fireballs. He'll either use an expanding ring of them that float out from him in a circle, or he'll throw a few fireballs in a row at you or one of your friends.

One of the bette✨r strategies in this fight is to try and position Zhang Bao with his back to the walls of the arena and move him closer to it.

He also has a large AoE attack to watch out for, but this is obviou🤪sly teꦦlegraphed.

Doing this will sometimes mess with his teleportation, and he'll just zip away for a second and re-appear right next to you. If this starts to happen, you might be able to keep attacking him and staggering him in the corner, so much so that he won't be able to move. If Zhang Fei and Guan Yu also join in on this, the fight can be over extremely quickly.

Guan Yu and ꦐZhang Fei will take a lot of aggro here, so you can let them do most of the work.

With Zhang Bao stuck in a corner, you can further stagger him with a well-timed activation of your Divine Beast. Every time you do this during a boss fight, the boss will be momentarily stunned and it creates a sizable opening to get a ton of decent damage in.

If Zhang Bao has enough breathing room when you've got him to less than half his HP, he will try and summon several Warlock enemies.

They will be positioned around the arena, and there will be a lot of them. Depending on how much HP Zhang Bao has left, it might be in your best interest to rush him down and ignore the Warlocks.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Zhang Bao casts fireballs out in a circle

If he's still got a lot of HP left, you should go around the room and take the adds out. If left alive, they will start to cast magic at you and provide the boss with various buffs. The mage enemies will alꦐl die ♈quickly, usually only taking a couple of hits.

There will be patches of fire left around the boss room due to all of Zhang Bao's spellcasting.

If you're feeling fancy, you can dispel these and counter his Fire magic with Water magic.

With the mages taken care of, or ignored, you can burst down the last bit of Zhang Bao's health. He does have some Critical Strikes to be aware of, but he barely used them when we fought him.

Chase after him when he teleports, try to corner him with his back to the wall, and keep mixing in Martial Arts mid-way through your normal attack combos to deal damage.

The more you deflect his attacks, the more Spirit Gauge damage you do to him and the more you'll power up your own attacks.

Equipping any fire-defence scaling armour will be a good idea for this fight.

With so many fireballs being shot around during this boss fight, you might find that just one of them will break your guard if you've been aggressive with your Spirit. This would leave you vulnerable to other potentially fatal attacks, so it's something to keep in mind.
