The fight consists of two phases. The first phase sees you fight Yu Ji in human form, and it is a𓃲 pretty straightforward encounter. After you beat him, he will merge with his demonically corrupted dragon, transforming into the Embodiment of Demo꧟nic Qi. This second phase is an entirely new encounter, so be prepared for a long slog against these two.

Yu Ji Boss Fight Strategy - Phase One

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty - Yu Ji uses a crtitical strike on us, holding us in the air

As ever, the boss will begin an attack as soon as the fight starts. For Yu Ji, be prepared to deflect a barrage of ice shards hurled at you. When we fought Yu Ji, he then used a Critical Strike to catch us out.

For this critical, he will fly into the air, summon a red ball of demonic qi and throw it at you. These attacks are the easiest to deflect; wait until it is extremely close to you and hit the def♚ꩵlect button. You will throw it back at him, dealing decent Spirit and health damage to Yu Ji.

This phase of the fight is by far the easiest. He acts and behaves like a regular humanoid enemy.

This means that he is hilariously easy to interrupt, which iꦓs something that we recommeജnd you take considerable advantage of during this fight.

Yu Ji will cast every flavour of spell in this fight, switching it up as he chooses. However, since he is an especially squishy spell-casting enemy, he does not fare well when you start swinging at him.

Using a weapon that has fast and long-ranged swipes is perfect for keeping Yu Ji in check. We used a straight sabre and had no trouble keeping him on the back foot.

Due to his squishy nature and total lack of poise, you always want to rush up to him and attack. If he tries to fire off a spell, you should be in his face immediately and attack him to stop it. This strategy 𓆉will refuse to give him an inch in the fight.

This is another occasion where your Followers will be invaluable.

We brought Zhao Yun and Xiahou Dun with us, and the two of them could interrupt several of his attacks with long-ranged jabs, grieving him fairly well.

They are so effective that it is possible to stun-lock Yu Jin in a corner if you all surround him. He can teleport away, but you🐼 will have done devastating damage to him.

He will use poison in t𝄹his fight, but due to his overall weak nature, this will not cause you🔜 many problems. Use a Metal-phase spell to dispel any of these effects.

If you and your Followers 𓃲ca༺n bully Yu Ji into a corner, the fight will be over quickly. Try not to use too much of your healing in this fight because once you depleted his HP the second phase will begin.

Any gear you use in this fight will be what you take into the next phase.

Ensure you have al⛎l your best equipment to hanꦯd and your spells set before fighting Yu Ji.

We recommend having Qinglong for its healin♛g prowess. For spells, Metal Phase will work to counter his poison, but Ice Weapon will be great in the second phase, along with𝓀 Absorb Vitality.

Embodiment Of Demonic Qi Boss Fight Strategy - Phase Two

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty - Embodiment of demonic qi boss attacks with a large, red glowing wing

Defeating Yu Ji will trigger this second phase to begin. You will be fighting a gigantic dragon, whom Yu Ji has fused with, which means this boss fight is an entirely different bal𒈔lgame. He will use completely different attack༒s in a different arena.

As the next phase starts, Yu Ji will fly around the arena and prepare for a Critical Strike. He will swing towards you with an enlarged glowi🤡ng red wing.

As far as other critical strikes go, this one is particularly difficult to predict.

The red wing takes ꦜup a massive area, but the timing of the defle💫ction is awkward.

With most fights in Wo Long, you must wait until the last second to deflect this attack.

The Embodiment of Demonic Qi dragon will spend a lot of its time flying in the air, making hitting it difficult. Don't be tempted to use your bow or any ranged spells, for these will avail you none.

Due to this troublesome airborne aspect of the fight, you must wait for the dragon to finish an attack, where it will mostly come to the ground, recover from its attack animation and leave it open to several combos.

When it does, get close and attack whichever part you can. While all the dragon's limbs are targetable, each appendage takes the same damage from a physical hit.

The most dangerous part of this phase will be the dragon's lightning attacks.

This spell shoots red vines of lightning that will rip and travel in a line back and forth several times.

If this targets your Followers, they will be heavily ꧑damaged.

Another nasty attack sees the dragon summon several swords and swing them all, seven times in a row. It's a powerful combo, but they are timed apart enough that you can easily deflect each hit, building positive Spirit in the process.

When the attack finishes, the dragon will fly over you and land. When he does this, he will be vulnerable for a long time, so you should launch into a charged attack and follow up with♛ a combo and a Martial Art, if possible.

The best attack to exploit is when the dragon charges up a spell and creates ripples around the arena. These circles will explode in Earth damage eventually, but there will be patches that are safe to stand in. More often than not, ♎the safe patch will be in front of the dragon, but it changes.

During this spell, you should get close and keep attacking for the duration.

You can deflect the hit if you are standing in one of the circles when it explodes, but even so, you should take this opportunity to deal damage no matter what.

Taking advantage to deal damage during this spell will go a long way. You can get in so much free damage here that a stance break will happen in no time if you are aggressive and he spams the🐼 move enough times.

When you get a poise break, go to the monster's head to whack Yu Ji with a Spirit attack. This will deal two instances of massive damage to the boss, almost certainly leaꦯving it in the red section of low HP.

Keep attacking and exploiting lulls in its combos. When you deal the final hit that brings its HP down to zero, you might have to finish the fight with a Fatal Blow. Get up to his head when he falls over and give him ꧟one last stab.

With the Embodiment of Demonic Qi defeated you have one more boss fight to conquer in the game's final mission.
