As much fun as it is to pick on Sonic fans, the truth is, I’m just as cringe as the rest of you. Case in point: I’ve already fully embraced 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Year of Shadow, and it hasn’t even officially begun. I loved watching Shadow run circles around Sonic in the final season of Sonic Prime earlier this year, saving his life not once, not twice, but three times. The only thing that made me happier than that was scarfing down 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Shadow’s Chaos Cho✨colate Panc🐲akes at the only IHOP-based press event I’ve ever been invited to. Sonic X Shadow Generations is on my Steam Wishlistꦜ, and though it’s still a long wait until Sonic the He𒈔dgehog 3 hits theaters in December, I’m going to be first in line for whatever unholy popcorn bucket the freaks at AMC come up with this time.
Sega is ramping up the Shadow hype train right now. CinemaCon goers got a first look at the upcoming movie and, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:if you can believe the reports, the movie will feature a scene of Sonic and Shadow fighting in the sky on Shadow💦’s famous motorcycle, th൩e Dark Rider.

Sonic 3 Movie Gives Eggmꦏan 💧Game-Accurate Redesign
CinemaCon attendees got a sneaꦺk peek at Sonic 3, revealing a new ▨look for Eggman.
Sega act♐ually built a real-life version of the Dark Rider and is taking it on tour across the states. If you’re attending MotoGP Red Bull Grand Prix in Austin this weekend, you’ll be able to snap a photo with the red and black cruiser. I’m nowhere near Austin, but as a motorcycle guy and a Shadow stan, I’m definitely going to be keeping an eye on the bike to see if it ends up making any stops near me.
The Dark Rider is a pretty famous aspect of Shadow’s character. It's not quite on the level of the Batmobile or the Goblin Glider - you probably didn’t even know it was called the Dark Rider - but among Sonic fans, it’s iconic. Shadow’s motorcycle doesn’t have a very long history. A modified G.U.N. Motorcycle used by the military, it first appeared, unnamed, during the intro of 2005’s Shadow the Hedgehog. There’s only one level where you can ride it in the entire game.
It s♉hows up again in the infamous Sonic ‘06, redesigned with machine guns. Its final appearance is in 2010’s Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing as the main vehicle, unsurprisingly, for Shadow.
I don’t mean to be pedantic talking about hedgehogs, but has anyone ever stopped to wonder why the heck Shadow would even need a motorcycle? Doesn’t it seem ridiculous that the clone of the fastest creature in the universe, who can also teleport at will, would need to cruise around on a 650cc chopper? Tꦍhe Flash doesn&rsqᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚuo;t need a Flash Mobile; that would be absurd.
I get it for Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. In a race against Billy 🌄Hatcher, AiAi, and Banjo & Kazooie, it makes total sense that Sonic and Shadow would need to take a handicap and drive cars instead of running around at the speed of sound. But in Sonic ‘06, there are sequences you can’t complete without the Dark Rider because you can’t go fast enough without it. How absurd is that?
Obviously, the Dark Rider exists because it’s rad. I was 11 when Sonic Adventure 2 came out, so you don’t have to tell me about the rule of cool when it comes to Shadow. The black & red Sonic with the bad attitude an🥂d the SMGs was my hero when I was a little kid. Of course he has a motorcycle. It would be weird if he didn’t.
It just clashes with the whole speed thing. Shadow’s air shoes let him travel along the path of rings at the speed of light, but what's the top speed on that bike, maybe 150mph? I’m not looking for grounded logic in my Sonic movies, but I hope the sequel takes time to mention that Eggman invented the fastest motorcycle in t🅰he world for Shadow, or it’s a time-traveling motorcycle, or it’s an AI motorcycle like K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider. Otherwise, I expect to see Shadow hurl that bike at some soldiers and create a giant explosion in the first five minutes, like he does in the game.
