Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Pre-Ordeꦉr Guide: Editions, Early Access, Release Date, And More
13 years on from the orig🅠inal, yo🎃u can now pre-order Space Marine 2 ready for its release on September 9, or September 6 if you have early access.
On👍e of the most important forms of early-game progression is 🌠Armoury Data, a currency you use to unlock stronger weapon variants in PvE Operations. In this guide, we explain how Armoury Data works, how to earn Armoury Data in Operations, and give our recommendations on what you should spend your hard-earned Armoury Data on first.
How To Get Armoury Data
Armoury Data comes from three notable sources:
- Operation missions.
- Hidden Servo-skulls.
- Class Trials.
Operation missions are your main source of Armoury Data in Space Marine 2. Every Operation has a small chance of spawning a boss as a random encounter. Slaying them will award your entire squad with one Armoury Data. If you need purple or orange Armoury Data, you need to play on a higher difficulty setting.
Armoury Data Rarity
Armoury Data comes in three rarities:🍎 green, purple, and orange. Higher rarities are obtained fr๊om harder difficulties, as shown below.
Rarity |
Difficulty |
Item Tier |
---|---|---|
Green |
Minimal, Average |
Master-Crafted |
Purple |
Substantial |
Artificer |
Orange |
Ruthless |
Relic |

Each Operation mission also has hidden Servo-skulls you can find in side areas. Interacting wit🐽h one will award a bonus Armou🐻ry Data component.
To help kickstart your Multiplayer progression, you can also earn green-rarity Armoury Data by completing Class Trials. These act as tutorials on how to play your chosen class. You can find them in the Armoury Hall of the Battle Barge. Select the "Trials" ribbon and play through each challenge. Every class has three Trials that award one Armoury Data (green rarity) each. That's 18 Armoury Data fo𝓀rꩲ a few minutes of practice.
What To Spend Armoury Data On
Armoury Data is used to purchase stronger weapon variants in Space Marine 2's Operations mode. Weapons are broken up into four tiers:
- Standard: Unlocked by default.
- Master-Crafted: Requires Armoury Data (green).
- Artificer: Requires Armoury Data (purple).
- Relic: Requires Armoury Data (orange).
You'll need to earn XP with Standard-rar🦩ity weapons before you can purchase Master-Crafted gear. Once you play enough matches and earn enough mastery, you'll be able to spend your Armoury Data to unlock the next tier of weapon unlocks. Once the tier is unlocked, you can purchase any weapon in that rarity group for Requisition Points, another currency you earn from Operations.
Rarity unlocks are per weapon type.
