15 Ascension Riser 31 💯 🔯

A later addition to the game's map roster, Ascension Riser 31 doesn't stand out much at the beginning as the industrial confines and narrow halls are quite similar to many of the other maps in rotation. Where it stands out is towards the end.

The ascension riser in question is a large elevator that slowly ascends a tube-like silo. It's pretty cool to be standing on it while it slowly moves from level to level. What's less cool is your squad being stuck there while enemies climb aboard and attack you. It can get hectic though, so if you like to stand your ground there's that.

Darktide: The Rejects Being Attacked By Nurgle Poxwalkers

You'll probably end up playing this map fairly often, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Chasm Logistratum feels pretty solidly on-brand with the Warhammer 40k universe as it mixes a lot of industrial and mechanical infrastructure with the gothic grandeur that the game is known for.

The ending task is one of the more fun in the game, as it has you loading ammo containers into a waiting vehicle while enemies try to hamper you. It's a good mix of tension and excitement while not being too overwhelming.

Hab Dreyko is one of the few times you see habitational areas proper. It's an interesting addition from a lore standard to show you the way that people live in the underhive and then realize how they've either been wiped out or turned to chaos.

As far as actual gameplay goes, the random encounters in the middle of the Hab get interesting with the different paths that enemies can take and the bottlenecks that can form because of that. Other than that, it's much the same as the close confines of many of the other maps available.

11 Power Matrix HL-17-36 💫 🅺

The Power Matrix sounds important, and that's because it is. This is a facility that helps provide energy to the entirety of the hive. Without it, Tertium would descend into darkness and, well, further chaos. The various machinery all feels important, and even those little hallways feel like they're funneling you to something more vital.

The☂ end-goal area is a place in flux, with plenty of moving parts and enemies to get in your way. It helps to have a tech-priest as your guide throughout the missions in this map because the scale of the technology is impressive.

10 Smelter Complex HL17-3ꦗ6

The smelter is where Tertium puts some of its energy to use creating parts for the Imperium's vast war machine. As any wartime factory is, this is an incredibly important place, which makes it all worse when there are heretics blocking it from working.

The end is a hectic mishmash of killing waves of enemies and poking out daemonic eyes that are gumꩵming up the machinery. It feels more important compared to some of the other missions, and it also helps to show more about the daemonic incursions common with chaos.

9 Refinery Deltಌa𓆉

The Refinery Delta doesn't stand out a whole lot in the way of pathways, and it is one of the more often played maps, which means you'll be seeing a lot of it. It's one of the few times you get to see the sky and outside world, which you would think would feel hopeful, but the drab skies and sand raining down remind you how depressing Warhammer 40k can be.

There are a few interesting spots like the shanty town and a hangar where ships are being repaired but beyond that there's not a lot. Thankfully, the lighting and atmosphere add to it a bit here and there.

8 ෴ Archivum Sycorax

Archivum Sycorax is another map added a bit later in the game. This one feels nearly as Warhammer 40k as it can get. The red-carpet lined halls and the archaic gothꦿic architecture make it feel creepy, but also a weird amount of luxurious.

It's just enough that it feels very wrong to have maggots wriggling about or to be 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:firing a shotgun in the halls. It shows some fo the more working life of Tertium, but not the everyday toil of the manual laborers. It's a refreshing addition, but one that could be taken farther to show even more of what the Imperium has to offer.

This map is one of the few times you get to see the Imperium of man as some of the middle to upper echelons get to live. You're removed from the underhive and instead get to see a bit of the spires themselves. The areas are full of religious iconography and gothic sensibility with posters and banners speaking of the Emperor's grace around every corner.

Any Zealot players should feel pretty at home here with all the religious vibes the map gives off. Some long hallways and pulpits also allꩲow Veterans and other long-ranged players to be abl🦄e to use their talents relatively easily.

6 Silo Cluster 18-66/Aꦦ ඣ

The areas of the Silo Cluster probably didn't see much foot traffic even when everything was normal in the hive. Walking through the dark recesses of the hive is creepy, but it's also a fun place to test out a close-quarters build and arsenal.

It's interesting to see Darktide take its already cramped spaces and really turn that up. This map gets some extra points for being altogether overwhelming when an ambush hits and the hordes start amassing. It may not have a whole lot to look at, but that goes to show how drab the underhive can be at times.
