The good, the bad, and the Morley.

The majority of these enemies will be found amidst the Ancient Ruins you find in most regions of the world. If you're here reading this, then you've probably come across them already. Lucky you, there's a quest all about beating them, and we're going tꦍo show you how to do it with ease.

How To Beat Every Ancient Ruins Boss

Historian Fuyeu thanking Val for dealing with all the monster sin the Ancient ruins in visions of mana.

Immediately after completing Historian Fuyeu's previous quest, Traces of the Ancients, he will offer you its follow-up, Nemesis takedown. It's a rather simple but simultaneously daunting task. He wants you to travel back to the൲ eight Ancient Ruins across the world and defeat all of the monsters within.

The enemies at each ruin are immensely strong, though also follow a specific format to each. Every Ancient Ruin has sets of enemies, and each must be defeated before the entrance to the boss of the Ancient Ruin will open. This will be denote๊d by a short cutscene showing a brazier light up outside the enꦕtrance after each group is defeated.

Here are some tips before you get started:

  • Typically, each Ancient Ruin has an Elemental Affinity, and so most enemies will be weak to the opposing element.
  • Building on that, bringing Val and all his Elemental Saber moves can be a massive help.
  • Make sure to bring lots of healing items. While the majority of the game may not be exceptionally challenging, the Ancient Ruins are a very significant difficulty jump.
  • Use EXP-boosting items before the battles, especially if you're under-levelled. You can gain a massive amount of levels challenging the Ancient Ruins.
  • We used Val for his defence and Elemental Saber abilities, Palamena for her high Magic Damage and variety of Spells, and Morley for his high crit chance.

Thankfully, these enemies do not respawn either, so feel free to go back and save after each encount🐓eꦯr so you don't lose any progress.

Charred Passage Ancient Ruin

The flames being extinguished in the Charred Passage ancient ruins in visions of mana.

Here you will battle Brutal Guri, a Goblin-type enemy. They're not exceptionally challenging, though they have the ability to dash across the battlefield to reposition at 🦋a moment's notice in the same fashion you do during an Elemental Break.

He is at Level 52 when battled, while we were at Level 35, so you can tackle these pretty early on if you feel confident. Brutal Guri has one key weakness, as do his summons - Wind. Keep at him like this and you'll have him beat in no time. Your reward is the Mortal Twiliance Lance for Val.

Aery Passage Ancient Ruin

The flames being extinguished in the Aery Passage ancient ruins in visions of mana.

You will battle Bolt Urus at the Aery Passage, a Bulette-type enemy. Like previous, they can dash across the battlefield whenever they want to reposition, so always keep them in the centre of your screen so they don't catch you off guard. Thankfully, they're weak to Wind as well.

They are battled at Level 52, while we were Level 37. Bolt Urus' adds should be dealt with first as they become an easy distraction. Bolt Urus' most dangerous move is their charge which has the potential to down your party in a single hit. Try to avoid being near them entirely during this ch🗹arge in case you ✱get hit.

After beating them, you can collect the Mystic Revelunge Spear from the chest for Careena.

Lefeya Drifts Ancient Ruin

Visions of Mana Lefeya Drifts Ruins In-Game.

You will battle Jointed Tikkle at Lefeya Drifts. They are a fish-type enemy, and have a set of Dainslaif enemies assisting them. These enemies are weak to Light and Smash, so set-up yourꦦ Classes to take advantage of this.

Jointed Tikkle is Level 53 during this battle, while we were Level 39. They have no particularly difficult moves to look out for, though they can freeze you with certain moves.

After their defeat, you can collect the Mystic Ragevise Fists for Careena.

Fallow Steppe Ancient Ruin

In the Fallow Steppe Ancient Ruins, you will battle Manipulated Bruiser. Despite only being the fourth of the Ancient Ruins bosses, he is also one of the most difficult. He is fought at Level 54, while he were Level 41.

He has two additional Dark Knights with him, which complicates things. While they are weak to Light and deal Dark Damage, Manipulated Bruiser is the opposite. A helpful trick is to battle the Dark Knights first, and the🀅n flee the battle to heal or change Classes.

Putting a Consecutive Casting Ability Seed on Palamena is very helpful here to double up the damage.

Manipulated Bruiser doesn't have any particularly challenging moves, they just all hit like a truck. Take your time with them and don't forget to take advantage of Class Strikes. After their defeat, you'll get the Ethereal Shiftcane Cane for Morley.

Pritta Ridge Ancient Ruin

The flames being extinguished in the Pritta Ridge ancient ruins in visions of mana.

With Pritta Ridge, the enemies surrounding the Ancient Ruins also get more difficult. Some of them are weak to Light, while others are weak to Earth. Make sure to come with both el🃏ements to defeat them with ease🌟.

After these enemies, you will face Astral Thrace, who is battled at Level 54. We were Level 43 during this encounter. The boss here is weak to Earth, and is a dramatic drop in difficulty compared to Manipulated Bruiser. They can paralyze and miniaturise you though, so equip resisting Ability Seeds if y❀ou🌼 have them.

After their defeat, you will acquire the Spirit Acrisythe Scythe for Palamena.

Ahrvet's Pasture Ancient Ruin

The flames being extinguished in the Ahrvet's Pasture ancient ruins in Visions of mana.

The enemies surrounding Ahrvet's Pasture's Ancient Ruins are weak to both Water and Slash damage, and are not exceptionally difficult either way. The boss, Custodial Truffle, is weak to Wind instead.

Linking these enemies with Lumina's Lantern before attacking them with the Undine Flask wil൩l have them obliterated in seconds.

They are battled at Level 55, while we were at Level 45 during this encounter. Again, there's no absurd moves going on here, though they can put you to sleep, which isn't an ideal way to fight a battle. After their defeat, you may collect the Spirit Treadstep Boots for Palamena.

Khaswia Moors Ancient Ruin

In the Khaswia Moors Ancient Ruins, you will encounter a variety of enemies, though all of them are weak to either Light or Water, and some to Slashing damage as well. The Lumina Lantern-Undine F🤡lask combo from before is a killer here as wel🌱l.

At the top, you will meet Magic User Ambrose. They are battled at Level 55, while we were at Level 46. You will𒊎 notice that Magic User Ambrose is surrounded by a few of every enemy in the𝓡 ruin. Deal with these first to focus everything on Ambrose.

Unlike the other bosses, Ambrose actually has no weaknesses and is in fact either resistant or outright immune to every element except for Moon or Wood. As such, you'll be relying on a lot of raw strength here. They use a few different elements and can paralyze and burn you as well. Persevere though, and you'll be awarded the Arboreal Paraquelll Parasol for Julei.

Zawhak Desert Ancient Ruin

The grand finale takes place in the Zawhak Desert Ancient Ruins. Throughout, you will fight various slimes. The red slimes are weak to water, while the blue slimes are weak to fire. Easy. The Lime Slimes have no weaknesses though, and must simply be defeated with powerful magic, as they are resistant to al♔l forms of physical 💙damage.

At the pinnacle, you will encounter Extant Miasopia. They are Level 56, while we were Level 48 during this fight. Extant Miasopia can freeze you very easily, so equipping Ability Seeds to counter this is essential to the fight. Fire is also their only weakness, so bring plenty of it.

When you battle Extant Miasopia, deal with their Slimes first, and then flee the battle to heal up and prepare. Extant Miasopia has the unique feature of being completely immune to physical damage. This means the only way to deal damage against them is either with magic, or by casting an Elemental Saber on your weapons.

After their defeat, you can collect the Arboreal Blossomer Hammer for Julei.

The Reward For Nemesis Takedown

The ability seed Respect For The Ancients in Visions of Mana.

After you've defeated all of these fearsome bosses, you may return to Historian Fuyeu in Illystana, who is awaiting your return with bated breath.

Upon your return, he thanks you profusely, claiming he truly did not think the task possible. As a generous reward for this task, he offers you the Respect for the Ancients Ability Seed. This Ability Seed strengthens every Normal Attack by 30%, but drains 3% of your health with each attack as well. High risk𝓰, high reward.
