We all love video games, for better or worse. That's why you're here reading this article, hopefully. Just like this article's own name, a good video game title really draws us in. You want something descriptive that shows what's new to fans and is a brief explainer for people new to your games.
Of course, though a succinct title might be ideal, that's not always the most fun approach. Instead, some games will choose to be a little chaotic and give us a title that is, honestly, much too long. That's all part of the charm, though, because when a game is confident enough to get away with a title that is far from digestible, it can only be hiding wonders within.
Updated on June 28, 2023, by Hilton Webster: Videogames. Video games? Does it matter, really? 'Videogames' definitely seems longer, just like way too many video game titles out there. Just when you thought the original set of these games were ludicrously long, wait until you see these new entries.
10 NieR Replicant ver.1𒁃.224744871🔯39...
Starting off with perhaps the easiest-to-read game on the list is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nier Replicant. The full title will not be typed again. It's a mouthful to actually pronounce, and will feel like you're trying to do a maths equation just saying it. The most confusing aspect is how actually to classify the game.
It falls somewhere between a remaster and a remake, too comprehensive for the former but not dramatic enough for the latter. Like everything by Yoko Taro, it's puzzling and will leave you in despair. This applies to the title and the story, by the way. At least there's 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:an incredible soundtrack to keep you company.
9 Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Pro🦂logue
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kingdom Hearts is a series that should never have really been. Created entirely from a chance meeting, it was seen as a collaboration between Disney and Square Enix. Then it became more of a playground for Nomura's original characters, and then Final Fantasy was dropped entirely for the release of Kingdom Hearts 3.
Despite all that, there is one constant with Kingdom Hearts, and that's the titles of each entry. From the series that gave you Dream Drop Distance 3D, 358/2 Days, and symbols that are incredibly hard to get into an article (chi-blade, not the other, more prominent keyblade), brings you Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. They never miss.
8 Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-C♔ars
Pysonix is well known these days for the electric 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rocket League, a game that even non-sports fans can get into. After all, who doesn't love rocket-powered battle cars using supersonic power to dash about the pitch to chase a giant football acrobatically? No one - absolutely everyone adores that concept.
Pysonix really loves it, in fact, because just before Rocket League, they had made a game that was the little-known predecessor to it. That game was Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. In fairness, it's a pretty self-explanatory title. The only thing it 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:forgot to mention was the football.
7 Half Min🧔ute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy 🔥
Half Minute Hero is a wonderfully funny and smart little game. It was originally released as Half Minu💛te Hero before coming to other platforms, bearing the decidedly long title featured above for its PC launch.
The objective of the game is pretty simple - finish every mission in 30 seconds, or start over. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:It parodies plenty of popular RPGs and features an incredible cast of famed ✅composers for your short-lived adventures. It even got a sequel called Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming, which is a much more reasonably sized title.
6 Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game Of The Movie
Giant simians, monkeys, apes, and the like are beloved creatures too frequently wanted as pets. There's something so fascinating to an animal that's basically just a human but much hairier and slightly weaker communication skills. Now, what if that ape was just massive? Eighth wonder of the world massive?
King Kong has been terrorising our screens since 1933, and the hype hasn't died down since. In recent memory, Peter Jackson's rendition of the gorilla is perhaps the most popular. As was the norm for the time, it got a video game tie-in that simply refused to stand on its own two feet. As such, Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game Of The Movie was born, a true assault on the senses.
5 Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road To Boruto꧒
You'd have to be living under a rock to have not heard of Naruto at this point or just very, very lucky. It's peak shonen fiction, deeply rooted in Japanese history and Buddhist beliefs, with power creep that would make Dragon Ball tense up.
Though the knowledge available for this article on Naruto is incredibly small, it is undeniable that Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 - Road to Boruto, is a damn long title, and an incredible one at that. Road to Boruto is an expansion, but it has its own DLC at this point and is often thrown on as if it's the full title anyway, so it qualifies.
4 Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure Limited Edition
In an already decidedly vain title, Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure has you playing as a young Graffiti Artist using their talents to oppose their tyrannical rulers. It's like Mirror's Edge in theming, though with a distinctly different visual identity.
Throwing your own name (Marc Ecko being a fashion designer) onto a name already lengthens it beyond what is necessary. But the title Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure just makes it worse. Why has the 'Limited Edition' been added? The game is already going all out with the title, may as well throw in every aspect we can.
3 𒐪 Milk Inside A Bag Of Milk Insid🐽e A Bag Of Milk And Milk Outside A Bag Of Milk Outside A Bag Of milk
As a genre popularised by and in Japan, visual novels have as many variations as any other genre. Many may view them as simple dating sims (many of which are, by the way, not so simple at all), ignoring the likes of Ace Attorney as visual novels, or the blended style of more recent titles. Then, of course, are the Milk games. That's a great sentence to type.
The Milk games, fully called Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk, and its sequel, Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk (also called Milk 2), are visual novels about mental health. They're much deeper and perhaps not as whimsical as the milky title might imply, but then so many things with mental health never are quite simple. Core to the game is, after all, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:acquiring some milk. Most recently, though, they've been released on the Switch eShop as a single collection that is simply...both of the games' titles.
2 Cthulhu Saves The World: Super Hyper Enhanced Championship Edition Alpha Diamond DX Plus Alpha FES HD – Premium Enhanced Game Of The Year Collector’s Edition (Without Avatars!) 🌺
Much as it might be fun to pad out the word length of this article by typing the title of this game again, the editors don't deserve that torture. Instead, we'll refer to it as simply Cthulhu saves the world, the title it was actually released under. Officially though, it is that.
Originally released in 2011, Cthulhu Saves The World actually for having the longest video game title, which seems pretty justified from the length of it. Despite the name, though, the game is more of a love letter to classic SNES RPGs rather than...whatever the name might imply. It actually has quite favourable reviews and doesn't just exist to have an incredibly long name! It has, however, been dethroned as the leader of longest video game title
1 Summer-Colored High School ★ Adolescent Record – A Summer At School On An Island Where I Contemplate How The First Day After I Transferred, I Ran Into A Childhood Friend And Was Forced To Join The🐼 Journalism Club Where While My Days As A Paparazzi Kid With Great Scoops Made Me Rather Popular Among The Girls, But Strangely My Camera Is Full Of Panty Shots, And Where My Candid Romance Is Going
This whole entry could just be filled with the game's title copy-pasted for two paragraphs, though the editors wouldn't be very pleased with that. On the flip side, there's really not much that can be said about the game that its title doesn't already explain.
The game was never localised for the West, so the above title is an unofficial translation. Fear not though, as even when reduced to kanji and katakana, the title is absurdly long. Just look at the image. That's just silly, and worthy of respect.
