Agent selection can be crucial to solidifying your chances of winning matches in Sunset. Choosing the ones who can adapt well to the map and its offerings can be really beneficial. Below, we list some of the finest agents o♚n this Los Angeles-based map.

Updated on November 27, 2024, by Maria Antiporda: This list has been updated to take into account the new agents, map updates, and other changes to the meta.

10 Omen

An image of Valorant's Omen agent from the menu.
  • Role: Controller

Omen and the ability to make aggressive plays will be game-changing on Sunset. His smokes can cut off vision effectively on different map choke points and angles, and he can even use them to create one-ways in various areas. What makes 𝄹him stand out from the other Controllers is his Shrouded Step which will allow him to get over Sentinel utility and take space for the 🌺team.

A great place to use the Shrouded✨ Step ability is B main. From the entrance, teleport to the corner left of the stairs after a teammate blinds for you. This will allow you to clear front site while avoiding possible Cypher trips blocking the entrance.

You will additionally benefit from the Paranoia Blind of Omen due to the narrow lanes across the different locations on the map, such as A Main. Lastly, the From the Shadows ultimate will enable you to ✅teleport across Sunset, and you can surprise opponents or fake a push.

9 Clove

  • Role: Controller

If you'd rather not rely on teammate utility and are a more aggressive type of Controller, Clove is the perfect agent to pick on Sunset. Similar to Omen, their smokes are also suff🌄icient for blocking vision and creating one-ways. The plus side is that they can place smokes down even after dying within a certain range around their corpse.

If you're teaming up with random players in ranked, it's often better to use Clove over other Controllers so that you don't have to rely on the utility ཧand proper timing of your teammates. It'll take some form of chemistry and trust to really get coordinated plays done well.

What makes Clove even better than other Controllers for Sunset is how they can apply Vulnerability on enemies using Meddle, providing the entry duelists the perfect oppo♒rtunity to strike hard quickly. With their Not Dead Yet ultimate skill, they can also help in aggressive pushes by being the first contact ahead of the tea♛m, knowing that they can resurrect should they be killed.

8 Raze

  • Role: Duelist

Although Raze is kind of hard to learn and master, she is the Duelist that should be played on Sunset. Using her Satchels, she can quickly follow up any utilit💯y and kill enemies that are stunned or blind even though they're supposedℱly in a safe spot, such as backsite on B.

Raze is an aggressive hero, set o൩n dealing as much damage as possible with a variety of powerful abilities ready to be unleashed.

Aside from the movement aspect, the Bඣoombot of Raze will be a great part of her utility, and you can place it toꦚ clear off potential enemies in close quarters. Moreover, the Paint Shells can be a deadly grenade and fetch you kills in tight pockets like the spot behind the box on the A site. Looking at the Showstopper Ultimate, it will provide you with an opportunity to blast a rocket at opponents, killing one or even more.

7 Cypher

  • Role: Sentinel

Cypher would be the go-to Sentinel to help control and defend the sites oꦐn Sunset in Valorant. With so many angles and c♎hoke points to worry about, Cypher's trips are an essential tool to ensure that the team's flank is being watched and that the enemy team is unable to simply flood into an area.

Great places to put Cypher's Trapwires down are Mid Top and Market, if those are being explo💦ited. If someone is holding those choke points, having the trips at site entrances and common pathing spots will be useful.

Cypher's camera is also very useful when it comes to checking B Main and A Link as attackers. On defense, it'll allow you to peek angles safely such as from Mid Top. Not only tha♑t, with mid-rounding being so essential in Sunset, his ability to gain information with his utility, especially his ul☂timate, can win the team several rounds.

6 Sova

  • Role: Initiator

Sova is undoubtedly the best Initiator to utilize on Valorant's Sunset map. The primary reason why most of the team compositions involve him is because you can use the particular agent to c🌳ounter Cypher's setups. To begin with, his reveal can provide you with valuable information, whereas the Shock Darts can deal damage to opponents or break the Trapwires of Cypher, which are usually placed towards🌜 B main.

Sova's🍨 abilities are equally useful for attacking or defending, and you must plan ahead to𝓡 make good use of them.

The Owl Drone will also be prett🌄y ♓useful on Sunset and will allow your team to scout areas like Elbow before taking control. Finally, the Hunter's Fury ultimate will be ideal for post-plant situations in attack, and you can stop defuses using it.

5 Iso

  • Role: Duelist

If you've got a movement duelist on your team, a second duelist option could be Iso. His Double Tap's shield can be useful in dealing with enemies holding Operators and he can also be the first contact for the team. His Contingency ability can be used at site entrances so that he ca⛄n quickly deal with Cypher trips without g🍬etting shot.

His Kill Contract ultimate ability is also great for taking at least one enemy off a site, which is especially useful if heꦅ manages to snag the Sentinel to disable their setup. The Undercut ability is also a great ability to use to apply Fragile on enemies 🐓that your movement duelists can dive after.

4 Neon

Valorant Feature Image Character Mashup with cutout of Neon in front.
  • Role: Duelist

Provided you have an agent that can break Cypher trips and possibly other Sentinel utility, Neon can also be a viable duelist on Sunset. Her ability to run from one point on the map to the other quickly makes it easier for her to supply backup where it's needed. Combining her speed, slide, and her stun can also get her to🎃 deal with enemies holding angles and corners in a flash.

Considering that Sunset also has a lot of tight spaces, a Neon with ♔a shotgun can be a menace to deal with. If you've got her movement pat down and can easily combine it with the rest of her abili𝔍ties, she's a great duelist option for Sunset.

3 Sage

Sage from Valorant on a green background.
  • Role: Sentinel

Sage is an option for a second Sentinel on your team, but it's also good to consider her if you're constantly having trouble with dealing with Cypher trips in B Main. When the team is entering the B site, Sageཧ can place her wall on the right to block any bullets being fire from that side, allowing the team to deal with the trip safely.

The Sage 👍wall cannot block the right side of B front site entirely, so make sure to note that enemies can walk thro﷽ugh or shoot through one side of the wall.

On defense, Sage can also be a great second Sentinel to slow down quick pushes, especially since dive compositions are popular on Sunset. The Sage slow can also be paired with various utility to make sure tha𝓡t enemies are 𓆏unable to get out of their safe corners and will be naded, mollied, stunned, or even shocked.

2 Breach

Breach from Valorant against a brown background.
  • Role: Initiator

I🌄f you have an Initiator to take care of intel gathering, you can have a Breach that will set up your diving duelists for success. His flashes will be 𒁏very helpful for getting players into an area. His Aftershock is also great for clearing spots that enemies can usually hide in.

1 Gekko

  • Role: Initiator

Gekko is an🌟other Initiator that you can add to your team on Sunset. His Dizzy can be used to blind 💧enemies before the team presses forward, and it can also be used on defense to get information on the enemy team's whereabouts.

Throwing theꦚ Dizzy upward from certain spots on the A site can allow it to spot enemies in A main and Tiles.

Wingman is also useful for scouting for Cypher trips, and of course planting and defusing so that all team🃏mates can be focused on killing any enemies showing aggression. Thrash is also useful here thanks to the many corners that enemies can be tucked into.
