Enemies in VALORANT have nowhere to hide when Sova is hunting them. He takes the role of initiator in VALORANT for his ability to collect intel and strategize. Sova's abilities are equally useful for attacking or defending and include the Shock Bolt, Owl Drone,𓄧 Recon Bolt, and Hunter's Fury.
Shock Bolt
Sova can buy up to two shock bolts at the beginning of each round. When fired from his bow, the Shock Bolt causes a damaging energy pulse wherever it lands. One of the best features of the Shock bolt is that it can bounce off walls and can be fired around corners to places where you suspect the enemy to be hidi🎐ng. This is particularly useful when pushing into an area to diffuse the spike and want to dislodge campers. It can also be used for slowing down the enemy team when you are defending the spike.
Once you equip the Shock Bolt, you can use the left mouse button to decide how far it will go, and the right mouse button to control how many times it bounces. The Shock Bolt can bounce twice, so if you have the correct angles and elevation, you can send it into the heart of the enemy territory. The Shock Bolt won't kill enemies with full health and armor, but it can soften them up. It can also be used t🤡o finish off enemies who've already taken damage.
Recon Bolt
The Recon Bolt works similarly to the Shock Bolt, but it sends out an arrow with an emitter on it. The emitter sends out a radar-like signal and can mark any enemies within its line of sight. Just like the Shock 🙈bolt, it can also be shot over different distances and bounc▨e off walls. This ability is fantastic when defending an area because you can get advance notice of the enemy movements, and take action to stop them. It's also great for pushing because you can use it to see if there are any enemies in the area before moving forward.
There are a couple of drawbacks to the Recon Bolt. Enemies get a visual indicator of the area being scanned in the form of yellow lines and can take action to avoid it. Since the Recon Bolt can only detect enemies in its line of sight, they can also hide behind cover until it ex♚pires. Enemy players who catch the Recon Bolt early can also destroy it befoꦆre it gives away too much.
Owl Drone
The Owl Drone is another useful recon tool in Sova's arsenal. He can only buy one per round, and it is incredibly effective at clearing paths and scouting out areas. Onc♐e it's deployed, Sova can control it remotely and see everything from its point of view. The drone is also capable of firing a tracking dart that can highlight the enemy. This ability is handy at scouting ahead through obstacles lik🌌e Brimstone's smokescreen or over Sage's ice wall.
Just like the Recon Bolt, the Owl Drone can be quickly shot down, so it's best to move it fast and on an uneven path. The other drawback is that Sova can't move when it's deployed, so he's left open ಞfor attack. To mitigate this, you can use it at the beginning of the round, or have a partner to follow the drone and attack enemies who may be distracted by it.
Hunter's Fury
Hunter's Fury is Sova's Ultimate and allows him to shoot three devastating sho🅰ts that can penetrate walls from across the map. It also highlights the enemies that are near its blast. This ability can be used to flush our enemies guarding the spike or to keep charging enemies at bay.
Tactics
Sova can combine some of his abilities to cause even more damage to the enemy team. He can use the Recon Bolt to find the ene🐷my, then follow it up with a Shock Bolt to neutralize them. He can do the same with the Owl Drone as well. If Sova shoots his recon bolt across the map, he can attack the enemies there with Hunter's Fury. These abilities make Sova a formidable presence on the battlefield. He's an agent that the tea▨m may want to follow as he can lead them safely through the map.
