Take a moment to appreciate the ambiance. There aren't many dungeons like it, and while it's a disorienting mess some of the time, it's a beautiful disorienting mess.

Clockwork Mansion Overview

As you might guess, the Clockwork Mansion is all about the puzzle inside - there's not much in the way of exploration, and there are very few enemies to fight.

Reaching The Rotating Rooms Puzzle

From the entrance, simply head to the right until you reach the room depicted above, the one with white runes on the floor and a ladder in the center. You can fight the enemies along the way if you want, but it's really not necessary.

Ignore the ladder for now and jump into the wall on the right - there's a hole. Drop down one screen and then head one screen to the left to find two chests. You'll find Adept Illusion and Guts skill books here - the former allows sorcerers to avoid some attacks, and the latter makes it possible to survive fatal attacks on one DME.

These skill books can be transmutated into the skill books for Dancing Sword and Avoid, if you wanted those instead♊. Head back up the ladder to the right, and then another screen to the right. The chest here has an Eye of Heaven.

With those chests all plundered, head back to the first ladder you found. Climb it, and then head right all the way until you are prevented from continuing on by a text box. It will explain the dungeon's puzzle to you.

The Rotating Rooms Puzzle

Enter the puzzle of the rotating rooms - the first room is a water🅘y room with a vertical ladder in the center. Before we give you the solutio🔴n, there are a few things you should be aware of:

• To reset the puzzle, just stay in one room for a while. Eventually, a floating head will appear. Touch it to be sent to the beginning of the puzzle.
• If you accidentally fall through a hole into another room that isn't in the directions below, the solution will be out of sync. Reset the puzzle and try again - or use the remaster's rewind function to go back a few seconds, before you messed up.
• Some of the rooms will have puddles of water that stop you from jumping up to the exits on the sides. To reach these, you have to stand on the thin bands of wood near the center of the room and jump through the holes in the wall from there.

Starting from the first room with the water and vertical ladder, take the following path:

7. Left
8. Up
9. Up
10. Right
11. Right
12. Down
13. Down
14. Right

Accomplishing this will get you a big chunk of Event EXP, and you only have to move a few more screens to the right to reach the boss. Save before the boss, as it is very difficult. Consider getting some Prime Elixirs and Prime Banishes - the boss uses status ailments.

How To Defeat The Chimera

This is a very difficult boss - don't pull any punches!

The Chimera will open the battle with Three Deck, dealing a ton of damage to the entire party. It can also inflict status ailments like poison and freeze. A good counter to this would be to cast Heal with a sorceress immediately after - yo⛦u need to top up quickly, the Chimera has no qualms about finishing off your weakened party members.

If you have the Noble Elixir that you could have gotten from transmutating the Sealed Box froꦍm the first dungeon, this would be a good time to use it in a pinch.

Once you're able to recover from the Chimera's brutal opener, the fight becomes a largely simple encounter with a very bulky, tough enemy. Keep your health up, healing with Elixirs if you need to, a🅘nd just combo the fiend down.

Clockwork Mansion Artifacts

The Clockwork Mansion has two artifacts to speak of.
