The boss order in V Rising is not always linear, and you may encounter various roaming bosses much earlier than expected. This is certainly the case for Jade the Vampire Hunter, a large step-up on Tristan, and ever prese✅nt as you transition into the Dunley Farmlands. Her combat level is much higher than the early Dunley enemies, so it is best to avoid her until you have sufficiently powered up your gear.
This guide will teach you where to find Jade Th🅰e Vampire Hunter, the best battle strategy for defeating her, and what rewards will entice you to seek her out.
Jade The Vampire Hunter's Location
Jade The Vampire Hunter is one of the more difficult bosses to locate, as she wanders around a large section of the Western Dunley Farmlands. Primarily found on the road from the Cotton Farm to the most Eastern Militia Encampment, she patrols alone, on the lookout for her✨ shadowy prey.
Militia patrols will also path down these roads, so try to lead Jade off the beaten track and into some nearby woods, although due to her🌜 propensity for moving around, this can be easier said than done. She will not summon any adds during her fight, so you need only focus on her.
Both the Northeast and the Southwest Dunley Farmlands Waygates are your closest teleports.
Due to Jade's roaming nature, you will want to use your Blood Altar in order to track her down.
Battle Strategy
Jade The Vampire Hunter is a combat level 62 boss, and is considered one of the easiest late-game enemie🎐s. She only has a few mechanics, and they are certainly nowhere near as impactful as other bosses around her power level.
Attack |
Strategy |
Long-Range Gunshot |
Her primary attack is a long-range gunshot that's fast moving and has a decently long wind up. You will want to be in melee range of Jade at all times, so you should be able to circle round to her sid✤e or rear to e🎉asily dodge this. |
Invisibility |
Jade will occasionally turn invisible and run away from you. Effects such as Chaos Burn will♑ make her visible however, and you can a♏lways see a faint outline to find out where she is going. Any summoned minions from spells such as Ward of the Damned will also be able to see Jade, and will lead you straight to🔜 her. |
Bomb Throw |
Jade will also frequently perform a leap, and throw a Bomb onto the ground in her current location. The Bomb only deals minor damage, but this is where you want to use your Travel Ability to keep up with her. |
Caltrops |
Jade's next ability is to throw down Caltrops onto the ground that will slow and damage you should🥀 you come into ♌contact with them. They only cover a small area initially, but as the fight goes on, the ground wilওl become littered with them, so try to kite Jade into an area with more room, although sꦚhe has a habit of standing on top of them. |
Sniper Shot |
Jade's strongest move is to line up a sniper shot onto you. This will be indicated by a thin red beam, and it will fire a single shot that Silences you upon contact. The Silence is pretty nasty, as it will prevent you using any spells, ab🅘ilities or auto attacks during that time. The shot can be dodged, but moves very quickly, so you will want to be constantly moving in order to safely deal with it. It also has a long cast time, so🅠 yo𝓰u can freely punish the boss with your damage. |
Jade's bullets will be able to stun and burn you with Chaos, and althou♉gh the debuff only lasts for a short duration, it may mean you are hit by another shot.
For your gear, try running a combo of Ward of the Damned and Chaos Volley. This will give you a great defensive option for tanking her sniper shot, and also some nice damage with your minions and Chaos Burn.
A Dark Silver Reaper or Sword is a good weapon choice, and Dawnthorn Regalia armor is your standard late game defense. Try acquiring some Scholar Blood beforehand, and for your Ultimate you have a few choices. Mirror Strike can be some great burst damage, but Crimson Beam can be used to heal up. Careful though, as her Silence will cancel your cast!
In summary, keep on the offensive, and try to circle Jade. Staying in melee is very viable and with Ward of the Damned, you should not ✤r🌳eally be scared of any of her spells.
Jade The Vampire Hunter's Rewards
Jade The Vamp♕ire Hunter 𓆉only has a few rewards, but they are decently important.
Chaos Barrage Vampire Power |
An Ultimate, this will fire out four Chaos Orbs, that work similarly to Chaos Volley,ꦐ but in a small AoE. A strong offense choice, being able to stay on the move whilst dealing damage from range is a new option for you, and you might want to consider this for fights with a high move🦹ment requirement. The damage output is decent, and it will be good f🍌or fights with a high number of additional enemies. |
Primal Blood Essence Recipe |
This is a vital part of your gear progression and makes Jade a mandatory boss to kill. They can be crafted at your Blood Press with four Exquisite Hearts or nine Greater Blood Essences. They're primarily used in creating the strongest tier of gear: Sanguine Weapons and Bloodmoon Armour. Exquisite Hearts can be somewhat tricky to farm, so the Greater Blood Essences may be the easier option to acquire. |
Major Explosive Box |
Your final reward is the Major Explosive Box. This is an item primarily used for PvP purposes, as it will deal massive damage to stone structures such as Player Castles. They will also destroy structures such as Massive Resource Nodes, so they do have their use in PvE content. The Major Explosive Box can be created at your Alchemy Table and will cost you:
