The true endgame of V Rising lies in claiming the mythical Soul Shards. Held by the three most powerful bosses in the game, only one shard can be claimed per boss on a PvP server, making them hotly contested prizes. They will provide powerful buffs to you and your allies, but claiming them in the first place can prove a serious challenge. The holder of such a shard, Gorecrusher The Behemoth is a formidable foe, and more than lives up to his reputation as one of Vardoran's most dangerous creatures.

This guide will instruct you where to find Gorecrusher The Behemoth, the best way to go about fighting him, and what you will be rewarded with alongside the aforeme💞ntioned Soul Shard.

Gorecrusher The Behemoth's Location

Gorecrusher The Behemoth is found in Lair of the Behemoth location, in the Southern section of the Cursed Forest region. Depending on your server type, and if you have built the Eye of Twilight structure, this will be marked on the map with a white pillar. This is because Gorecrusher is a Soul Shard boss, and on P🌠vP servers, only o♔ne of each of the three Shards may be claimed at a time. If another player has claimed the Shard, it will be marked at their current location, and killing Gorecrusher will not yield the drop. If you are playing on a PvE server then there are limitless Soul Shards up for grabs, and his location will always be marked provided you have built the structure.

There are no additional enemies to kill on your way to the Behemoth's Lair, aside from your standard Cursed Forest minions. They should not prove any meaningful challenge due to your strong gear, and it is only a short run from the Cursed Forest Waygate.

Battle Strategy

Gorecrusher The Behemoth is a combat level 78 boss, and is a long, difficult fight. He possesses strong crowd control abilities and hits extremely ha🦹rd. A massive health pool means you will have to settle for a war of attrition. You should approach hi🐟m from range, as engaging him in melee removes most of your room to dodge.

His basic attack is a three-part attack that will cause you to become stunned. Try kiting him throughout the fight so that he cannot land hits on you. Your Travel Ability will be crucial for dealing with this so try and use a high mobility version such as Veil of Chaos. However, you may need to save this for his triple slam ability, which causes the ground to erupt in three lines, dealing high damage and fl🦩inging you into the air.

Gorecrusher's key move is a powerful charge attack, that if it connects, will flip you up and over his shoulder, stunning you for a few seconds. He uses this very frequently and due to the high speed with which he moves, it can be tough to dodge. This ability is so impactful that a shield spell such as Ward of the Damned should be used to block the initial hit. The spawned Skeleton can buy you a few seconds to move bac🐽k out to a safe distance.

The Behemoth will occasionally summon two ghostly spirits, although their numbers will be altered depending on how many enemies he is in combat with at any one time. Multiple players or summons such as the Skeletons from Ward of the Damned will increase the number of summons. The Spirit Wolf and Spirit Bear have decently high health, and they should be focused down as soon as possible. They will run after you, melee attacking, and trying to deal with them plus Gorecrusher''s quick charge is quite a handful. Kill the Wolf first, as it has less health.

Upon reaching half health, Gorecrusher will summon Wisps that circle the point of origin. These will explode if they hit you, and they also apply a damage output reduction, so try to position Gorecrusher near the edge of the arena to give y𓂃ours🅘elf more room.

Gorecrusher's Ultimate ability will activate upon falling to 30 percent health. He will spawn a Spectral Clone of himself that will perform both his charge attack and his basic melee combo. This summon cannot be killed, as if you reduce its health to zero🃏, it will become stunned for a few seconds, before regenerating. This is the phase where you should go all out with your damage, in order to spend as little time as possible having to fight the clone.

For this fight, take Ward of the Damned and Chaos Volley. You may prefer Sanguine Coil, but the extra damage will really help. The Mirror Strike Ultimate is good for either bursting down the Ghostly Wolf and Bear or taking advantage of Gorecrusher's long casts. A Sanguine Crossbow is your preferred weapon, as you will need to deal damage from a safe range. Bloodmoon armour and Scholar Blood will finish off your build.

Gorecrusher The Behemoth's Rewards

Even if the Soul Shard of the Behemoth has already been claimed, Gorecrusher will reward you with the Wisp Dance Vampire Power. An Illusion spell, this will mimic Gorecrusher's Wisps from your fight, summoning three rotating Wisp projectiles, that swirl around you and explode for small damage upon contact with an enemy. The ability can be recast to fire the Wisps forwards, dealing increased damage and applying a temporary damage dealt decrease to any enemy hit. For a Soul Shard boss, this ability is fairly weak, and it is hard to recommend over any of your classic choices. The weakness debu💜ff does not 💟last long enough, and the very poor damage from non-fired Wisps makes other options far more appealing. For the effort required in killing Gorecrusher, this spell alone is simply not worth it.

The Soul Shard of the Behemoth is a special item, that will prevent you from using abilities, teleporting, or mounting whilst in your possession. You are also slowed and take increased damage, so it can be difficult to transport if you are on an active PvP server. You must try to take it back to your Castle and place it down by using the item in your hotbar. This will create a Soul Shard Pylon, that can be activated by you or your Clan members. The Behemoth Soul Shard will grant your allies 50 Holy and Garlic Resistance, 20 percent increased Resource Yields, and a small movement speed increase. Useful buffs for t𒅌aking on certain bosses or farming, this item is one of the most sought after൩ in the entire game.
