The bosses in V Rising generally posses a unique or thematic mechanic that helps them stand out from the crowd. Christina The Sun Priestess, as an exile from the Dunley Monastery, specialises in healing Holy Magic, and can provide a problem if you are unaware of her mechꦺanics.
This guide will help you learn where to locate Christina The Sun Priestess, the best battle strateꩵgies for defeating her, and what rewards you will acquire upon completion of your contest.
Christina The Sun Priestess' Location
Christina The Sun Priestess is a combat Level 42 boss that can be found wandering the Eastern Dunley Farmlands roads. She will also travel through Dawnbreak and Mosswick Village, all while flanked by two Militia Guards.
As a roaming boss, your best tactic is to utilise your Blood Altar to find ꦬher, as this will save you the maximum amo𝔉unt of time. Simply follow the trail of blood to her present location.
If you decide to engage Christina outside a settlement, you most likely won't have to deal with any additional enemies, except if they patrol into you during the fight.
Drawing Christina away from the road will prevent most enemies from aggroing onto you, and will make🔯 the fight slightly easier.
Christina The Sun Priestess Battle Strategy
Kill The Militia Guards
Your first priority upon engaging Christina is to kill her two Militia Guards. This will prevent her from using her healing magic on them, and will allow you to focus her down without interruption. Her first ability is to fire out five Holy Bolts in a frontal cone. These can be negated by using the trees or rocks for cover, as well as circling to the boss's rear. The bolts won't deal much damage individually, but thanks to their wide spray pattern, it can be difficult to dodge every one.
Use Your Travel Ability
Christina will also employ a Holy AoE circle onto the ground, damaging and slowing you if you remain inside it. Use your Travel Ability to quickly escape this area, as it can impact your ability to dodge her Holy Bolts, or to avoid any incoming add abilities. The damage per tick is not very high, however, so it won't hurt much if it's the only spell you're dealing with.
Kill Any Additional Enemies
The main aspect of fighting Christina is her ability to heal any allies around her. If there are adds present, she will focus on healing and let them deal damage to you. Therefore, your top priority is to kill off any enemies that enter the fight, which Christina will complicate by occasional summoning extra guards. She will also heal herself for small amounts, which can prolong the fight and heighten the risk of extra patrols🤪 finꩲding you.
Watch Out For Holy Light
Christina's most powerful ability is to channel a large beam of Holy Light onto her, dealing damage in the surrounding area and healing any allies caught by the light. This will deal heavy damage to you, so be sure to move away from the boss when she begins her cast. She won't use this spell very frequently, but keep an eye out for it.
Weapons, Spells And Armour
For your spells, try running Shadowbolt and Aftershock, so you can both deal damage to Christina and AoE down any Militia that turn up. An Iron Weapon and some Hollowfang Battlegear are easily strong enough, with the Reaper being an excellent choic🌌e thanks to its A🌠oE abilities.
Christina The Sun Priestess' Rewards
Christina doesn't grant many rewards, but some of them can be extremely useful as you come up against progressively tougher enemies. However, she is generally considered an optional boss, and won't provide crucial recipes or structures, so you won't be held back should you focus on other bosses for the time being.
Purgatory Vampire Power
Your first reward is the Purgatory Vampire Power, which is, ironically, an Unholy spell. Calling down a beam of green fire, it will heal all allies in the area before exploding for damage and applying an even stronger heal to nearby allies. The best healing spell you have unlocked thus far, Purgatory can be very useful if you're playing in a large group, or if you want to save on using Vermin Salves. However, the damage is quite weak, and this is certainly a much more defensive spell option than a lower cooldown single target spell such as Shadowbolt.
Recipes
Christina will also grant you a few different recipes: Glass, Empty Glass Bottle, Holy Resistance Potion, Blood Rose Potion.
Glass can be used to create Windows for your castle, and can be utilised for later game gear resources such as Scourgestones, but for now, its uses are mainly cosmetic. Empty Glass Bottles can be used in your Alchemy Table to create a variety of potions, which can significantly empower your charactꦑer against certain eff꧅ects.
Holy Resistance Potions will give you a large Holy Resistance buff for 30 minutes, and will cost you numerous Mourning Lilies, two Scourgestones, and one Water-filled Bottle. Blood Rose Potions will provide a heal over time, reduced if you're in combat, and cost the same materials except Blood Roses in place of the Mourning Lilies. Neither of these potions are crucial at this point in the game, but can be very useful if you come up against a strong Holy damage-dealing boss later on down t🗹he line.
