Unlike the other maps in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Urbek City Builder, the final biome takes place in the far future. In the Ruins, society has collapsed after a nuclear disaster - it's your job to settle and rebuild on the site of a former city.

Balancing your resources is harder in the Ruins than on any other map, as there's precious little to start with. If you can get through the early stages, though, you'll have a city that surpasses the pre-catastrophe metropolis! This guide teaches you everything you need to know about bringing life back to the wasteland.

Scavenging

At the start of the game, there are ruined buildings scattered across the map. Most of these have the Scavenging Food trait, which is necessary to build Survivalist Houses and Food Scavengers. Neither are very efficient, but they have little to no upkeep and will be necessary to get your population growing. While it is possible to build normal housing right away, doing so will quickly deplete your available Food, so it's best to wait until you have some Scavengers up and running.

Docks and Water Mills are unavailable in the Ruins. While it's unfortunate that these excellent sources of Food and Power can't be used, their absence presents an opportunity.

When you start a new game on Ruins, set the map to Inland with no river. You can't exploit the water tiles anyway, so removing them gives you more land on which to build.

Additionally, you'll get a higher score multiplier for playing with "harder" map settings, even though they actually make the game easier in this one instance!

You'll also see a few ruined Warehouses and Factories on the map. These have the Scavenging Iron trait, which will let you build Iron Scavengers nearby once your population is high enough. This is the only way to get Iron for a while, so be sure to leave room near the industrial ruins and never bulldoze them.

Food And Farming In The Ruins

When you're looking for a place to put your initial blocks of housing, try to build near the many Abandoned Farms you'll find on the map. Once an Abandoned Farm has ten squares within two tiles of it with fifteen residents each (which is to say, Village Houses or better), it will upgrade to a Rebuilt Farm, producing Food and Wood at no cost.

Two hundred Food is only enough to sustain the housing necessary to rebuild the farm, so it's best to think of this as a rebate rather than a source of growth. Since Wooden Huts need at least fifteen occupied housing spaces nearby to upgrade into Village Houses, you realistically need twenty houses near the farm rather than ten. If you find two Abandoned Farms adjacent to one another, build to reactivate them both at once as pictured above for maximum efficiency.

The Common Gardens Policy lets basic parks produce Food. It's not much, especially compared to the cost in Unskilled Work, but it's a good way to make up for a shortage before you can build proper farms.

Organized Survivalists is a Policy unique to the Ruins that causes Survivalist Houses to produce Food instead of Work. This is a much ཧbetter use of the buildings, since the Work they generate💞 is abysmal.

When you build your first School, you'll be able to construct Fragile Fields. These can only be built on arable land - look for tilled tiles throughout the map - and cost Skilled Work, but they're the only way you're going to get sufficient Food to grow your population. A High School unlocks regular fields, which can be planted anywhere but cost Highly Skilled Work.

Once you can farm extensively, use the extr♊a food to upgrade your housing and get the skill levels required. The end goal is ꦚto be able to build Farm Sheds or plant Orchards, depending on your level of industrialization, ultimately making the late-game strategy on the Ruins identical to the Temperate biome - the trick is getting there!

How To Reactivate The Nuclear Power Plant

radiation scrubbers

Every Ruins map has one Abandoned Nuclear Power Plant surrounded by several tiles of radiation. You won't be able to do anything with this land until late in the game, but it's a good idea to build your main industrial center nearby. When the time comes, you'll be able to bring the plant back online and get plenty of power for your city!

Once you've constructed a University, you'll unlock the Radiation Scrubber. These small buildings have a moderate Energy and Science upkeep, but slowly remove radiation from nearby tiles. The process takes time - decades, even - so if you intend to use the power plant get the🌌 process started early and build as many Scrubbers as you can af🦄ford.

You don't need to remove all the radiation - just enough to build near the power plant. Once you have eight or more Logistics within two tiles of the Abandoned Power Plant, it will upgrade to a Rebuilt Power Plant. While it generates a huge amount of Energy, be warned that it has a hefty upkeep; make sure you're ready before placing the last Warehouse to turn it on!
