It allows for limb-targeted attacks and finishers where the protagonist can take their opponents down piece by piece. The fighting system is arguably more weighty than the FromSoft's Soulslike series and has a sense of brutality that's only bettered by its sequel.

Visually, it uses a stunning 2D HD 16-Bit style that conveys the sense of danger and an environment one would expect from a Sou൩lslike. Additionally, the gameplay is tough but fair and features some excellent storytelling.
