I don’t play a lot of shooters, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:aside from 𝄹my recent dive into FragPunk. I more commonly lean towards casual multiplayer games like Splatoon or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Overwatch (2016 Overwatch, anyway) as opposed to getting stuck in heavy shooters. I don’t have a soft spot for military genres and haven’t even touched the likes of CS:GO or played any 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Call of Duty entry in a good many years.
Yet here we are, in 2025, and I just tried playing 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rainbow Six Siege for the first time. Oh boy.
I only played a few rounds usin꧟g the readily availa♍ble Operators, trying out different gadgets and weapons, but there are so many more to unlock.
Siege Is An Entirely Different Kind Of Shooter
Unlike the common matches of deathmatch and point capture that most shooters default to, Siege hones in on the concept of… well, laying siege. One team defends, and one team sieges, and it relies heavily on tools, gadgets, preparation, and strategy - wheth💮er that be reinforcing and laying down traps, or using a rappel to find the best route of entry.
It’s 2025, I’m the only person on Earth who hasn’t 🎉played it, you know all this already.
It’s a methodical game that is both slow- and fast-paced; slow in approach, but fast as soon as bullets start flying, and it’s such a refreshing - and humblinᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚg - way to experience a shooter.
While matches would initially have me wandering around, figuring out what I should be doing, learning the maps, and probably being killed soon after, other times I would be locked in, tense in a room waiting for an enemy to show themselves, aiming to shoot before they do. And then probably still being killed, but it’s such a thrill.
My first kil⛦l was a round-winning kill. And it was with barbed wire. 🥃Go me.
Is Siege Worth Trying Out In 2025?
Dropping into Siege as a newcomer was not nearly as daunting as I thought it would be. The tutorials are mandatory and will walk you through everything you need to know, and my first matches - even if I died regularly - would not bring the team down. There were even some supportive🎀 messages in the chat praising my atte💞mpts.
On top of that, I didn’t feel out of my depth in being fresh-faced, as there’s no real disadvantage to being a newer player compared to veterans aside from the experience of playing. A bullet is a bullet, and it’ll do the same thing no matter who you are - it just depends on how you handle yourself. These sorts of non-level-based systems are an excellent way to keep a game going strong, while continuing to welcome new players at any stage of the game’s life, as is the case with more recent games like Helldive🍎rs 2.
Although Rainbow Six Siege is approaching its tenth anniversary, it’s still going strong more than ever. With events still underway and the follow-up Rainbow Six Extraction already left with minimal suppoꦗrt while Ubisoft continues to put the focus on the already-popular Siege instead, it remains the strongest point of entry for one of the most tactical shooters you can play today.
I’ll probably still gravitate to casual shooters for some easier, hop-in-hop-out, fast-paced shooting, but when I want to ground myself in some strategy♍ and feel like there’s more at stake, I’ll keep Siege installed and at the r🧸eady.
