Although there are an endless number of board games out there for you to discover and play, there is a small handful that transcends the pastime that everybody has heard of, and almost everyone has played. While Monopoly might top that pecking order, Trivial Pursuit is a very close second. Known the w▨orld over, the basic premise of Trivial Pursui🔯t is players answer questions and receive wedges in return. The first player to get a wedge of every color wins.

Much like Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit has been around for so long and touched so many fandoms and cultures that there is far more available than just the base edition. Hasbro has not only released updated versions of Trivial Pursuit and special editions based on certain topics and periods of time, but some of the biggest series and franchises have their own versions as well, sometimes even multiple versions. Below is a selection of what we believe are some ♊of the very best editions of Trivial Pursuit available right now. Options to suit all ages, groups, and interests.

Updated May 27, 2024, By Ben Jessey: There are plenty of different versions of Trivial Pursuit, and we put the best ones available at the time on this list. However, some have since gone out of stock, while others have come into stock. So, we've updated the piece to add and remove a few.

Best Trivial Pursuit Editions

Master Version
Trivial Pursuit Master Edition Box

The Master Edition is an enhanced version of the original game. It contains the classic board and wedges. Yet, a timer is added, so you only h💃ave so long to answer a question. Plus, some of the questions are slightly different than before, as several involve visual aids.

Pros & Cons
  • The inclusion of a timer adds an extra element to the game
  • Different types of questions from the classic version
  • The presentation of the board is still beautiful

A good version of Trivial Pursuit doesn't need to change things completely. The Master Edition is more of just an enhancement of what came before. In fact, if you don't use the timer, you can still play the original version of the game with this edition but with new questions.

Yet, it's worth trying the timer as it's a game-changer. Not having as much time to think of the answer adds extra difficulty and tests your ability to deal with pressure. The new types of questions that involve looking at images on the card don't have as big of an impact as the timer, but they still add a bit of variety to the experience.

MCU
Marvel Cinematic Universe Trivial Pursuit Box

The Mar🦩vel Cinematic Universe Trivial Pursuit is here to test your knowledge of the MCU. It not only has MCU-based questions but also playing pieces and wedges inဣspired by the Infinity Stones.

Pros & Cons
  • The board looks beautiful
  • The playing pieces are based on the items that contained the Infinity Stones
  • Having each wedge relate to an Infinity Stone was a smart idea

You can't just make a Trivial Pursuit game for any series, as if it's one that most people haven't seen, and then you will struggle to find people to play it with. Yet, the MCU's Infinity Saga was huge, so you're bound to know someone who knows enough about it to play against.

That isn't the only positive of the game, though. The presentation of the whole thing is beautiful. The board looks excellent, and the playing pieces are lovely, too. Also, the fact that each wedge relates to an Infinity Stone is a nice idea. It means that you're trying to acquire the stones in every game, just like in Infinity War.

Family Version
Trivial Pursuit: Family Edition
Player Count
2 - 36
Age Recommendation
12+
Length per Game
90 minutes 🧸

The Family edition of Trivial Pursuit is similar to the regular version. However, it includes 🍬separate questions designed for adults and kids so the wಞhole family can play together.

Pros & Cons
  • Allows the entire family to play together
  • You can use the kids' questions if the adult ones are too hard

Unlike popular games like Monopoly and Battleship, Trivial Pursuit hasn't traditionally been a game that the whole family can play. After all, fully grown adults will generally have an advantage over a 12-year-old in trivia.

Yet, this Family Edition gives you two sets of cards. So, adults can answer the adult ones, while kids can stick with the kids ones. It evens the playing field a little bit. Plus, if you're an adult who isn't so good at trivia, you can opt for the kid questions.

Dungeons & Dragons
dungeons and dragons trivial pursuit

Trivial Pursuit and Dungeons & Dragons are two🌼 very popular, but also very different, tabletop games. Finding a way to bring them together like this is not only a huge win, but allows players of both to come together and perhaps even spend a little more time with the other afterward.

Pros & Cons
  • Two tabletop games coming together
  • Brings players of two different games together
  • Don't expect the full D&D experience from Trivial Pursuit

No, playing Trivial Pursuit's 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dungeons & Dragons edition isn't going to replace the full D&D experience, but it's still going to be a lot of fun. It brings positives to the table(top) that each game alone cannot too. Perhaps your non-D&D friends play this with you and get a taste for it, wanting to join you on your next full adventure. Playing D&D Trivial Pursuit-style also won't take nearly as long as a regular campaign, so this edition is perfect for those who need a D&D fix, or something to coax non-fans into their world, without setting aside an entire night, or perhaps even multiple days.

Classic
trivial pursuit classic edition

Sometimes when you play Trivial Puꦜrsuit, you just want to play Trivial Pursuit. The Classic 🏅Edition is the one you want for just such an occasion. You'll want the most up-to-date version of it though so you're not answering outdated questions from 40 years ago.

Pros & Cons
  • The original game with updated questions
  • Even comes in the same box as the original game
  • One of the cheapest options
  • Will eventually need to replace it with an updated Classic Edition

This is the Trivial Pursuit party guests and family members will expect you to whip out when you ask them if you want to play whenever you have people over. Right down to the box as Hasbro has retained the original packaging it used for the game on day one for this Classic Edition. The only thing that really needs to be updated as time passes is the questions. Ask someone in their 20s the questions about pop culture that came with the original version🌠 of the game, not only is it not fair, but the game might come to an end long before it reaches its natural conclusion.

Friends
trivial pursuit friends edition

Like it or not, Friends remains the biggest sitcom in TV history. Almost everyone has seen it, regardless of age, so this will be a Trivial Pursuit set that might not appeal to everyone, but almost everyonಌe will be able to play along and have so෴mething to contribute.

Pros & Cons
  • Everyone knows something about Friends
  • It'll be there for you (when the rain starts to fall)
  • Some people claim it was never a good show (they're wrong)

While you might have some people in your life who don't watch Always Sunny, absolutely everyone has seen Friends. No, I'm not claiming everyone has seen every episode multiple times like some have, but you will have been in the same room while Friends is on at least a few times in your life. The show had such a profound effect on Western society that everyone can play this bitesize edition of Trivial Pursuit, even if they never liked Friends. You all know the characters, you've all heard the famous quotes, play along and have some fun.

SpongeBob SquarePants
spongebob squarepants trivial pursuit

Hard to believe, but SpongeBob SquarePants has been on our TV screens for more than a quarter o🍷f a century. That's 25 years of research you'll need to do before tackling the 600 questions in the faඣmous sponge's special edition of Trivial Pursuit.

Pros & Cons
  • Everyone knows SpongeBob, even your grandma
  • Suitable for all ages even if it says 12+
  • Might get old fast, especially if you find SpongeBob annoying

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? I'm assuming that is one of the 600 questions included with this particular Trivial Pursuit set; otherwise ,Hasbro has seriously missed a trick. As for the other 599, some of them might be a little more obscure. What's the name of Plankton's restaurant, and what animal is Mr. Krabs' daughter? Hint, she isn't a crab. No, not everyone is going to be all that enamored with playing 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:SpongeBob Trivial Pursuit when you force this on them at your next family gathering, but hey, you can't please everybody.
