168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Tomb Raider passed by me growing up. I’m young enough that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Uncharted was the new kid on the block and Tomb Raider was a relic when I first started playing games - sorry about that. All I knew about Lara Croft came from the Ange⛦lina Jolie movies and the jokes about her big ol’ triangles. I wasn’t interested. I saw the Alicia Vikander movie when it came out but didn’t think much of it, and my bos🔴s recommended I give Tomb Raider 2 a try, but I still couldn’t for the life of me understand the hype. I’d come in too late.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Cue 1-3 Remastered. Imagine that Danny DeVito meme ✅where he says, “I get it now”. That’s me. The first game turns every level’s structure into a platforming puzzle, and realising that I was slowly climbing a vertical hallway in Atlantis was a jaw-dropping moment even 30 years later. Tomb Raider is an all-time great and I can finally say I understand 🔯why. But Lara Croft? She’s horrible.

Granted, part of it is how you play. When you throw a giant T-rex in my face that can devour me in one bite, I don’t have much choice but to shoot at it. But by extension, that means Lara Croft is gleefully shooting an assumed-to-be-extinct species in the face without exploring any other options. The unbelievably rare living dinosaurs are probably worth more than the treasure she’s pillaging from other countrಞies to hoard in her giant mansion where she stuffs a butler ไin the 🌜freezer.

I grew up with Nathan Drake and it was always joked about how he was more than happy to gun down dozens upon dozens of mercenaries without thought, not losing a wink of sleep over the mountains of corpses he leaves behind. But something about happily murdering dogs and unarmed people feels a step too far,🦹 let alone bringin🔯g extinction to ancient species.

The worst part is that she doesn’t need to go on these expeditions. Drake is down on his luck and wants to make some cash, that’s understandable. Or he’s trying to help his brother. There’s a fair, understandable motive, even if his actions are often questionable. With Croft, she’s a thrill-seeker. She already has the big lavish mansion with an obstacle course built in - there’s no need to go out and pillage other cultures’ artefacts and murder everything on her way. She’s doing it for fun. As ℱshe famously quips, she “only play🐠s for sport”.

I know the real reason is that these are just video games and they need enemies to spruce up the levels and add a b♒it of challenge, but taking it at face value, it makes Lara Croft look like a monster. We are far from the hero here, even if we fight resurfaced ancient abominations hellbent on world domination. I don’t believe for a second that Croft snuck onto the boat for the good of mankind. She just wanted an excuse to blow off steam with her pump-action.
