Summary

  • THQ Nordic's recent showcase looks to have teased the imminent reveal of a new Darksiders game.

  • That's all the info THQ Nordic gave us during the show, but we can probably expect more details to be shared soon.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Darksiders is arguably the jewel in the crown that is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:THQ Nordic's lineup of titles, having originated back in 2010 and received multiple sequels over the course of the last 14 years. Darksiders Genesis was the last game in the series, released back in 20💎19, and it caused a bit of a stir by distancing itself from the traditional hack and slash, Zelda-inspired gameplay and adopting a top-down approa🐠ch.

Since then, we've heard barely a peep about Darksiders from THQ Nordic, but that looks to have ended after the publisher's yearly showcase which took place earlier today. While we saw 16🃏8澳洲幸运5开奖网:exciting announcements like Wreckfeꦛst 2 and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:updates on games like the Gothic 1 Remﷺake, THQ Nordic teased what appears to be a new Darksiders game rig🍌ht at the very end of the show.

THQ Nordic doesn't announce it as a new Darksiders game outright, but those familiar with the series should instantly clock the three stone heads on fire in the teaser. Those delightful guys are The Charred Council, who are supposed to act as mediators to try and bring balance to the war between Heaven and Hell. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, who you play as throughout the Darksiders series, also answer to them.

Following the reveal of The Charred Council, the phrase "be prepared to ride again" also shows up on screen, suggesting we'll be taking up the role of one of the Four Horsemen yet again. Unfortunately, we have no idea which one, what the game is called, or when we'll get to play it, but THQ Nordic will likely reveal more details soon, possibly at Gamescom Opening Night Live later this month.

What Could A New Darksiders Look Like?

Darksiders 3 Raiment of Armageddon

Given that we've now played as War, Death, Fury, and Strife, it'll be interesting to see who developer Gunfire Games goes with for this new game. We still haven't had a continuation to the story of the first Darksiders, since Darksiders 2 and 3 both take place during War's imprisonment, while Darksiders Genesis is a prequel set years before. A new game having us play as War again would definitely breathe a bit of life into the series.

Whatever te case, we'll have to wait for more details. Thankfully, Gamescom Opening Night Live is less than three weeks away, and it's promising some big reveals this time around. On top of a potential look at a new Darksiders and the reveal of Little Nightmares developer Tarsier Studios' new project, it's also possible that we will see the reveal of Dragon Age: The Veilguard's release date there too, which was recently ღsuggested to be some time in late October.
