While your first encounter with the Beast of Beauclair didn't go to plan, it did allow you to reunite with an old ally. In the quest La Cage Au Fou, Geralt joins forces with Regis, a vampire that had helped him in an adventure long before the events of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Witcher 3.

This quest is both a long overd💧ue reunion for the former comrades in ar🍷ms and a continuation of Geralt's investigation into the Beast. The investigation is particularly challenging, involving a delicate curse cast by an old adversary with only one shot of successfully lifting it without any bloodshed.

Finding Regis In The Cemetery

After their brief reunion at the end of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Blood Run, Regis asks Geralt to find him at a nearby cemetery outside Beauclair where they can continue their discussion. It's a relatively long ride away from the city.

Perhaps unsurprisingly for a cemetery, the grounds are devoid of human life, with only a ghoul present to greet Geralt. After killing the lone monster, knock on the crypt's door. Regis will not answerꦅ, forcing Geralt to find another way🧔 in.

This alternative entrance is in an open sarcophagus nearby. Unfortunately, your only course of action is to jump into the excavated interior. The cavern beneath has been turned into a kikimore nest, with ♉the insectoid monsters immediately att🐽acking you.

Kikimores are diminutive foes that would barely be considered a threat if not for their attacks increasing Geralt's toxicity. They can force Geralt to his maximum tolerance within moments.

You can counteract their poison with White Honey, though consuming the potion will disable any active potions and decoctions.

After your unwelcome entrance, go through the caves to reach Regis, destroying a rock wall with Aard along the way.

He's happy to see Geralt, though he doesn't let their reunion get in the way of their business. Thanks to Geralt having Dettlaff's severed hand, Regis brews a plan to track his friend down using an esoteric alchemical concoction.

They hit a snag early on, needing a strong hallucinogenic substance. Few chemicals fit the bill and all of them are difficult to acquire. In a stroke of good luck, Regis has heard about a previously extinct species of Wight that can provide the appropriate hallucinogen.

He tasks a flock of ravens to help him find the specimen and invites Geralt to share a drink with him.

Sharing a drink with Regis is entirely optional. That said, skipping it will have you miss out on Regis explaining the history of vampires in the world and a chance to hear more about Geralt's feelings toward his profession.

Spotting A Wight

Geralt stares up at a decrepit building covered in etchings inside a foreboding forest.

The ravens lead Geralt to a long-abandoned estate in a remote forest. If not for the foglets shrouding the surrounding woods or the barghests patrolling the grounds, you might be forgiven for thinki☂ng that the area was merely ominous instead of haunted.

Once you reach the manor itself, Geralt will comment on the writing carved into the building's walls. Deducing that it is a curse afflicting the Spotted Wight, he can start investigating clues to lift the curse.

Use Geralt's Witcher Senses to highlight clues in red. While most of them consist of spoons, there are a handful of notes scattered around the manor that giv🐼e you some insight into the curse's o𝓀rigins.

If you've completed the Hearts of Stone expa💞nsion,💦 you can probably guess who the wandering merchant is.

When you are ready to confront the wight, take the stairs down and search the room to the right. Interacting with the cauldron at the back of the room will prompt him to hide in a nearby wardrobe to wait for the wight to appear.

After a short cutscene, you will have to choose between killing the wight or trying to lift the curse. Killing it is easy, lifting the curse is another matter entirely. We cover how to lift the curse in the section below.

You will not be able to lift the curse unless you are ready by the time you hide in the wardrobe.

How To Lift The Wight Curse

Geralt walks toward a monster with his hands raised, trying to talk to it.

Unlike many of the game's witcher contracts, Geralt's understanding of the curse is not contingent on finding a single clue. Instead, you will have to investigate enough clues for Geralt to piece together a solution.

You will know when you have discovered enough when you receive an experience point reward. Once it comes in, you can end your investigation.

If you are successful, Geralt will be the wight's willing guest and will sit at her table to eat her brew. There is one more check to make before your job is done.

Right before you partake in a delicious, home-cooked meal, you have to make a final decision crucial for lifting the curse. The only correct option is to eat without spoons. Doing so will successfully lift the curse.

If you choose the wrong option, you will have to kill the wight.

She will flee from the manor, rushing to the grounds where she returns to her human self. Geralt will bring her to Corvo Bianco, where an optional quest, The Hunger Game, will begin two days later.

Going To Tesham Mutna

A screenshot of Geralt kneeling by a corpse at night with Regis next to him.

Returning to Regis with either the wight's brew or its salivary glands will not end your trials. He requires a final ingredient, the blood of a higher vampire taken while it is transformed and in a frenzy.

Having already decided that there is no other alternative, Regis drinks a drop of blood, risking a relapse of his blood addiction before traveling to the ancient vampire 🐼stronghold o💃f Tesham Mutna, where his blood can be safely extracted.

He leads Geralt through its old halls, explaining the history of his people along the way before finally arriving at a cage where he intends to trap himself.

This is your only chance to get the Tesham Mutna equipment. It's a relic set that will restore health each time you kill an enemy.

It has six components. Make sure to use Geralt's Witcher Senses to highlight them. The first five items are in chests that Regis stands next to. The final one is in an alcove on a wall.

By the time you reach the cage, Regis is struggling with his growing bloodlust. The final task is to place bait around the chamber before imprisoning him inside. You may have to use Aard to clear the sites. Once everything is ready, talk to Regis to lock him in.

Geralt locks his friend in a cage inside a cavernous chamber under a castle.

The bait will lure in several waves of necrophages and vampires, starting with relatively mundane ghouls, rotfiends, and scurvers. After fending off the first few waves, two lesser vampires join the fray, consisting of a felder and a katakan.

There is no better time to quaff Black Blood, especially in its Superior form. The potion will harm enemies that harm you. At its highest level, it will force vampires and necrophages to bleed when close to Geralt.

Your objective is to kill enough monsters to drive Regis into a frenzy. This will be over faster than you expect, though the battle will be intense. Monsters will approach from all four entrances and may surround you.

Survival is your main priority. There are enough foes to kill Geralt at the smallest misstep. Ensure that Quen is up at all times ♉and be prepared to withdraw to let your health regenerate.

Pay particular attention to the scurvers and rotfiends. These monsters will explode when killed. You can use this to your advantage by having them explode near their allies.

Combat ends immediately after Regis' bloodlust takes over. His v♈ampiric awakening will scare the monsters away and give Geralt a ch꧂ance to take his blood.

After returning to Regis' home, they brew the p🥂otion and find their next objective, a bootblack.
