Each Victim and Family member gets a special ability that cannot be used on any other character, but there are a bunch of perks that can be shared. These perks are one of the many things unlocked through a character's Skill Tree, and here's everything you need to know about it.

How To Unlock The Skill Tree

You can find a character's Skill Tree by heading over to Customization in the main menu or a game's lobby. Although, this area will only unlock when you play your first game. While you can look at the area after the first game, you won't be able to do anything here until you level up and earn Skill Points.

Each account level up (usually shown on the top right of your screen) grants five Skill Points, which can then be used in any character's Tree to unlock Attribute Points and Perks. The A🎐ttribute Points can be used to upgrade any one Attribute on the character♔, while you can also equip up to three perks on a character in the loadout.

Family members can also equip a Grandpa perk that buffs his ability during the game.

How The Skill Tree Works

Every Victim and Family member has a unique Skill Tree. The shape and guaranteed perk in the Tree defers for each character. Once unlocked, you can start spending your Skill Points on the Tree to unlock a certain path. You'll see various intersections with a multiple arrow icon, which symbolizes the path getting divided.

Depending on your choice, you can only follow one of these paths while the others get blocked. Every path contains different perks and a certain number of Attribute Points. You have to spend around 50 Skill Points in a character's Skill Tree to fully upgrade them to level ten, but you can also end up spending a little👍 more in some scenarios.

The Skill Tree features two types of perks: guaranteed and randomized. The guaranteed perks stay at the same position even if you Respecc the Tree and start upgrading it again. On the ot꧙her hand, the randomized perk is always new and belongs to one of the guaranteed perks of other characters.

Of course, you won't be able to get Victim perks on the Family members and vice-versa.

The best way to upgrade the Skill Tree is by getting around 50 Skill Points and choosing any path according to your liking. If you don't like the end result, you can simply press the Respecc button, which resets the Skill Tree without any cost. The best part about this is that you'll still be able to see the positions of the perks you unlocked.

You can hover over these perks to read their description. With a bunch of Skill Tree resets, you'll be able to unlock the entire Tree and see the position of all the guaranteed perks. Now, you♑ can choose a path according to your play style and build your character properly.

You can also keep resetting until you get a certain random perk that you want, but this might take a long time.

You can't upgrade a character's Tree once they get to level ten, but every character also has an Ability Tree that can be opened by clicking on the Ability at the bottom of the Skill Tree. Here, you can choose one of the three pa🤡ths to give special buffs to your Ability as you get XP by playing the character.

Just like Skill Tree, you༒ can Respecc this Ability Tree for free as many times as you want.
