Can Sims Get Sick?

Sims can come down with all kinds of bugs and sicknesses. The main way to keep track of your Sim’s health is by lo꧃oking out for their moodlets.

If you have The Sims 4: Cats and Dogs, then your Sim’🌺s furry fri🍌ends can also get sick.

Sims will become Nauseated and throw up if they have 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:morning sickness while pregnant or if they eat something spoiled🎀. Squeamish Sims can also get sick in response to many more things, including privacy invasions and catching frogs.

Sims can become Nauseated with just the Base Game, but DLC introduces ﷺyour Sims to the horrors of even more health concerns.

If you have The Sims 4: Seasons, your Sims a💛re more likely to get sick during wet and cold weather. Be extra careful to look out for winter colds.

Illnesses Introduced In The Sims 4: Get To Work

The Sims 4: Get To Work introduces most of the game’s illnesses. You♚r Sims symptoms will appear as ♑moodlets for a few hours:

The Nauseous moodlet introduced in Get To Work is different from the Nauseated moodlet in Base Game. Look carefully for the icon and spelling to see whether your Sim needs medicine or not. The Nauseous moodlet is helpfully signposted with a💞 medicine bottle.

These will always be ꦐeither a +1 or +2 buff, depending on the intensity of their sickness, and tend to last three to four hours. If unt🐎reated, they can come back.

Another thing to keep an eye out for is strange patterns on your Sim’s skin. If your Sim suddenly𒉰 has pink tiger stripe🍰s all over them, it’s safe to assume they’re not doing so good.

Thankfully, none of these illnesses are fatal. Just highly inconvenient.

Getting Food Poisoning While Dining Out

If a Sim goes out to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:eat at a restaurant using Dine Out, they might be unlucky enough to get food poi✤soning.

Food-poisoned Sims will be nauseous and may run to the toilet, so make sure the bathroom is clear for thꦚem. A bush from Get Together, Jungle Adventure, and Werewolves all do the trick either.

Sims with the Food Poisoned moodlet can’t use a cure and just need to wait for it to pass.

As🐽 gross as it is, reporting food poisoning can be a neat way of making some quick cash. You can find the option on any Food-Poisoned Sim’s phone.

Being Poisoned In Selvadorada

If your Sim has taken a recent visit to the jungle, they might come back with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:more than souvenirs. Jungle Adventure introduced a whole host of risks to look out for, including bee stings, spider bites, and♔ curses.

Sims who fall seriously unwell in the jungle are likely to have been poisoned. Unlike some other illnesses in The Sims 4, this can be fatal, so try to treat it as quickly as possible.

Rabid Rodent Fever

Long-time fans of the franchise might remember Guinea Pig Disease from The Sims: Livin’ Large. Rabid Rodent Fever is introduced as a slightly different (but just as deadly) disease in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Sims 4: My First Pet Stuff.

If your Sim has a poor relationship with their rodent roommate, they might get bitten when interacting with them. If their enclosure is dirty, then they are at risk of catching fatal Rabid Rodent Fever.

Can Sims Go To The Doctor Or Hospital?

Although there is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a hospital on a hidden Lot 🍸in Willow Creek and doctors in Get To Work, Sims can’t go to either to cure sickness. They’ll need to rely on home remedies instead.

Sims can only go to the hospital if they are in labour or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Doctor career. Thankfully,ꦛ this means that sick Sims don’t need to go far f༺rom home to treat their ailments.

If you have The Sims 4: Cat and Dogs, you can go to the veterinarian with your animals where they can receive diagno🦩sis and treatment. Buying treats from the clinic’s vending machines also helps to give their health a boost.

How To Cure Illness

The treatment your Sim needs to cure their sickness depends on what they’ve come down with:

You’ll need to buy a Tea Magic Personal Brewer or one of For Rent’s kettles. Any tea works. Orange juice is available on the Quick Meals menu in a fridge or cooler. Napping anywhere helps.
Poisoned! Overwhelmingly Poisoned	Poison Antidote Bone Dust	You can buy the Poison Antidote from a computer for 1,000 simoleons. Bone Dust can be dug up from dirt piles or bought from vendors if your Sim has a maxed-out Selvadoradian Culture Skill. Take the Bone Dust to Selvadoradian locals and Ask About Antidote.
Feeling Fuzzy Fuzzy Fever Rabid Rodent Fever	Rodent Remedies Visit a Vet Clinic	Using the computer, you can buy either Rabid Rodent Serum for 500 simoleons or Rabies Inoculation Serum for 800 simoleons. To unlock the Serums, your Sim will need to Research Rabid Rodent Fever on the computer before they can buy treatments. At the vet clinic, Sims can speak to the employees and Ask About Rabid Rodent Fever. This will also unlock the ability to buy remedies.
Werebies Advanced Werebies Insatiable Hunger	Buy a Werebies Remedy Use the Bed Find a Treadmill Use the Toilet Shower	Pay a visit to the Grimtooth Bar and Bunker in Moonwood Mill and speak to the bartender to find the Werebies Remedy. Select your Sim’s bed and choose Try to Sweat The Werebies Out. The treadmill also offers the Try to Run Werebies Off interaction. Toilets should have the Try to Force Werebies Out interaction. When you select a shower, your Sim can Try to Cleanse Self of Werebies.

What Happens After Curing Illnesses

For the most part, Sims who are cured of their illness will lose the negative moodlet associated with it and carry on with life.

When it comes to illnesses from Get To Work, Sims will have their symptoms replaced with one of two positive moodlets, depending on their course of treatment.

Sims who use medicine to treat their sickness will have the Medicated +1 Energised moodlet for a few hours.

Should your Sim accidentally use the Medꦑicine when they don’t need it, they’ll get an Over-Medicated +1 Daz𝓡ed moodlet.

If they take a more natural approach to their illness, they’ll get the Combating a Cold +1 Happy moodlet instead. There aren't any negative side effects from natural remedies, so that might be preferable if you're not sure wha🏅t your Sim is dealing with.
