We should all be so lucky as to grow old some day, but if 🌊old age is anything like it is in , it seems like it might be kind of boring. Elders are one of the lesser-played 🥂life stages, not only because Sims tend to die before they get there, but there’s not much to do.

The Sims 4: Every Lif😼e Stage And How Long They Last

We take a look at the new lifespan of Sims after thಞe infant update.

They’ve seen and done it all, so what do you do with a Sim that&r✨squo;s in thei♏r golden years with money and nothing to do? We’ve got ten ideas to make your elder Sims less boring that’ll help spice things up.

A lot of these ideas can be done using just The Sims 4 base game, but some require additional content to play to the max. I've included a table for each entry in this list of ways to make Elder Sims more interesting to detail exactly which packs add the most content to that particular idea.

10 💞 𝓡 Start Or Join A Club

Any Interest Can Be A Shared Interest!

The Get Together expansion pack was one of the very first for The Sims 4, and with it came the 𝓀ability to create clubs of any kind, able to instantly begin gatherings of pre-selected Sims with the collective task of doing whatever you so ✨chose for them to do.

If your elders are feeling a little lonely in their twilight years, why not start a club based around shared interests with like-minded folks? It gives your Sims a reason to get out of the house, socialize (maybe even making new friends along the way), and enjoy some of their favorite hobbies in new ways. Plenty of packs o▨ffer additional things to do, and the ones above are easy to tie in with elderly Sims.

9 𒀰Start A Business

Put Those Life Skills To Use

Required Packs

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Get to Work or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:High School Years

Suggested Packs

You don’t usually reach your golden years without picking up a skill or two along the way, and if your Sim has mastered something in their time here, why not s♛tart a little retirement side-hustle doing it in ♒your free time now that you’re done working full-time?

If your Sim just can’t sett♚le into retirement – relaxing every day, every day does get boring for some – then spend some time capitalizing on the skills you’ve spent your life𒊎 mastering. Creative skills tend to be the easiest to translate here, with plenty of packs available to compound on those interests.

Get to Work allows you to start businesses, while the High School Years expansion pack adds the Entrepreneurial skill into the game. Businesses can be tough to st𝔍art without these packs, but if you craft something and then sell it right from the base game, you don’t tech📖nically need either pack.

8 Remodel 𓆏The Family Home ♕

Leave Something New For The Next Generation

Even if you started out doing a rags-to-riches kind🅘 of challenge, by the time your Sim is in their final life stage, it’s pretty probable you’ve accumulated a handsome amount of wealth. And if you’re not intending to expire with those simoleons in your pocket, then it’s a great time to make some finishing touches on the home you may have spent your Sim’s life building.

All the suggested packs above are good picks for additional building content, but there♔ are plenty of ways to remodel the house even without add-on content. Gut a room completely and build it again from the ground up. The bravest players can even bulldoze the entire lot and start anew, or simply move to a blank lot and build from scratch.

7 𒆙 Travel The Wor🔜ld

See The Sights While There's Still Time

You can technically bounce between a few different worlds in The Sims 4 even without add-on content🀅, but there are certain packs th𒐪at make it a heck of a lot easier to take your Sims on vacation. Plenty of elderly folks use their golden years to travel the world, see the sights, and take in all there is to experience, so why not bring that to The Sims 4?

💯Where you’d like to go depends on which pack you’ll need to have installed in order to make that elderly Sim’s jetsetting dreams c🌺ome true. Snowy Escape adds Mt. Komorebi and the ability to enjoy a variety of winter spots, Island Living is a tropical beachy destination, and For Rent adds lush southeast Asian-inspired destinations.

If they’re more into camping, Outdoor Retreat allows for outdoor excursions of the sort, while Jungle Adventure brings you to the dense rainforests of South America for action-card adventures. The Seasons expansion only addsꦚ to all of these packs, enabling 𝓰more dynamic weather that brings visible impacts to the worlds in these other packs.

6 Get A Dramatic Mܫakeover ♑

Let Loose While You Still Can

Growing older does some pretty wild things to your fashion sense, doesn’t it? If you were a rebellious teen, you likely leveled out some as the years kept coming, while tight-laced f൲olks may find themselves more willing to let loose with their fashion choices as they age out of the most targeted demograph𒁏ics for current fashion.

So why not explore that in The Sims 4 with your elderly Sims before their time is up? Have they been a white-collar worker their whole life, valuing order and pristine sur🌠ro🌼undings? Stick them in leather and give them a mohawk. Was your Sim wilder in their younger years? Maybe it’s time to trade in the tube tops for sweaters. The Create-a-Sim system is your oyster!

5 ☂ Make A Career𒐪 Change

Maybe Use A Different Set Of Skills

Suggested Packs

  • Get to Work
  • For Rent
  • Lovestruck
  • Dine Out or Home Chef Hustle
  • Dream Home Decorator

Especially if you’ve been playing a Sim that’s currently an elder for the majority (if not the entirety) of their life, you’ve likely had a plan in mind for them at some point. Creative children and teen♋s become creative adults, brainiacs go onto high-paying smart jobs, and so on and so f🦄orth. So if time is running out, why not switch things up?

Even if you’ve been sharpshooting the skills required for your Sims’ lifelong career, you’ve likely picked up something else along the way, so why not try playing with some of these auxiliary skills while that Sim is still kicking? Maybe they got really good at cookin🅷g making dinner every night, or they have enough money to invest in real estate now, or casual workouts for health brought about a love for athletics. There’s still time to explore until Grim shows up, s༺o why not?

4 Get Witchy With It 🌜

Maybe Even Commune With Lost Friends?

I really love the stereotype of elderly women with crone vibes, and The Sims 4 gives you plenty of ways for the elder Sims in your family to dabble in the paranormal if such a thing is up thᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚeir alley. Vampires and Werewolves add extra supernatural life states, while the Realm of Magic pack is quintessential if you’d like to cast spells and brew potions.

If you’d rather focus more on the outright ghastly, the Paranormal Stuff pack al𝔍lows you to become a paranormal investigator with an enriched list of ways to communicate with the dead. As your Sim ages, they’ll lose people along the way without question,💛 so help others settle their affairs while maybe even getting back in touch with long-lost loved ones.

3 Start𒐪🦹 A Retirement Home Lot

Friends 'Til The End

Does your current Sims 4 save have a ton of elder Sims kicking about that you d☂on’t know what to do with until they kick the bucket? If you’re into storytelling (or just need a communal place to leave the elderly to know they’re safe and cared for), why not consider starting a retirement home lot someplace in your Sims 4 world?

By building a large community lot where elder Sims can move in and live out their golden years, you’ll have a shared space that you can build out to give families something extra to do when they come visit grandma and grandpa.✤ Get to Work added the medical profession, so you could even play out a story with a doctor or nurse on staff taking care of all the patients at the home.

2 Pick Up New Hob💟bies

You Never Know What Else You May Like

Required Packs

Suggested Packs

You’re only as young as you feel, and if you keep your brain sharp, there’s no telling how much you’ll find to do as you aඣge! Even in the base game alone, there are dozens of potential skills and hobbies for your Sim to begin enjoying, and it’s never too late to start something new, especially when retirement brings your Sim a wealth of free time.

The suggested packs list add a variety of ways for your Sims to keep busy, like sitting in on classes at the local universit♌ies in Discover University, winter sports in Snowy Escape, crafty hobbies like Nifty Knitting and Crystal Creations, or m꧒ore active ones like Bowling Night and Fitness Stuff. The world really is a curious Sim’s oyster.

1 Nanny To The 𝓀Grandkids

There's Always Reason To Spoil Them

One of the most common uses people find for the elderly Sims in their family is free babysitting services while mom a𒆙nd dad are busy at work, leaving the younger Sims with a trusted relative who loves them rather than chucking t𝓡hem off to daycare or bringing in a nanny (who may or may not actually perform the duties required of them).

And that&rs💖quo;s where grandpa and grandpa come in! Even if your elderly Sims have been moved out of your active𒁏 home lot, you can still send the kids off to their house for visits and quality time. This is all entirely possible in the base game, but the suggested packs above offer a variety of milestones, skills, and accessories to enrichen the experience for the kids and your elder Sims alike.dw
