By heading into CAS and choosing which traits and skills your Sim prefers or dislikes wꦰhen it comes to the company they k🥃eep, you'll have a wealth of new ways to play out the love story of your dreams (or your nightmares) in The Sims 4 using turn ons and offs.

Choose Turn-Ons And Turn-Offs In Create-A-Sim

When The Sims team added the likes and dislikes system into The Sims 4 in 2021 with the Dream Home Decorator pack, who knew back then that we'd be using it to deepen the love lives of our Sims by introducing a series of Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs?

In the same way as likes and dislikes, you can choose these for your Sims in Create-a-Sim in the Preferences tab just below the icon for their current aspiration.

There are six overarching categories under which your Sims' preferences can fall in TS4 Lovestruck, breaking down into plenty of smaller traits, skills, and habits that your Sim takes into account when deciding if they're inter⭕ested in a potential partner.

These Turn-On and Turn-Off categories are:

• Way of Life, which is where you'll find everything to do with deciding how a Sim lives. If you'd like to ensure your Sim ends up with someone who parties, has money, enjoys studying, and more, highlight some of the choices in this category.
• Characteristics, which set out critical habit and hobby traits for your Sim. Here, you'll find preferences for ambition, creativity, cleanliness, sense of humor, and others.
• Romance Styles brings the five love languages into The Sims, with Affection, Flirting, Gift-Giving, Physical Intimacy, and WooHoo preferences located here.
• Hair Color, where you can decide if a hair color is a deal-breaker for your Sim.
• Outfit Color gives your Sim a preference for Sims wearing a certain color.
• Fashion encompasses the overall vibe of another Sims' outfit. Not into country boys, or looking specifically for a girl with a polished appearance? Say so here!

Personality traitꦯs have a bigger sway on romantic attract𝄹ion than physical traits, but both play into dating in The Sims 4: Lovestruck!

In this menu, you're able to choose whether something is a Turn-On for your Sim, something they find attractive when looking for a partner, or a Turn-Off, something they're not interested in when it comes to another Sim.

These can contradict one another, since traits aren't mutually exclusive all the time, but you cannot be turned on and off by the same trait. You can change these at any time in CAS - nobody's intere๊sts stay the same their whole life, andꦇ neither should your Sims'!

How Does Attraction Work In The Sims 4: Lovestruck?

Once these are set, your Sim will encounter other Sims with these traits in their dating endeavors, and you'll see that Sims react differently to Sims with their turn-ons, typically more compatible in convers💫ation and ꦜmore interested overall. If you're using Cupid's Corner to find a match, you'll see these traits highlighted on the profiles of potential matches.

Your Sims will then experience five levels of attraction to other Sims. The meter ranges from Very Unattracted all the way to Very Attracted, which is impacted by how many traits the other Sim has that your Sim registers as Turn-Ons or Turn-Offs. They're more likely to have successful dates with Sims they're attracted to, so keep these in mind!

A new dynamic option added to The Sims 4: Lovestruck, attraction is one-way in each relationship! Unlike how your Sims share the same meter for romantic or platonic relationships, each Sims' Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs are unique. Just because you see someone who's the Sim of your dreams doesn't mean they'll be attracted to you in reﷺturn!

Your Sim can choose to change certain things about themselves, trying to fit their partner's perfect mold, so choose how dedicated they are to the cause before grabbing the hair dye or going on a shopping spree. Sometimes, if you're just not compatible enough with someone🅘 it's best to move on and meet someone who likes you for you.

If you want to know what another Sim finds attractive, you'll need to ask other Sims about their preferences when it comes to Turn-Ons and Offs. You can even ask them how attracted they are to you if you're not sure where their head is.

Your Sim may find themselves attracted to someone else physically but be repulsed by their personality traits, or vice versa - you'll need to decide what's🍸 a deal-breaker and what isn't!

The more turn ons and offs your Sims have in The Sims 4: Lovestruck, the richer your romantic advances will be. Your Sims take all of these things into account when choosing a partner, so ass💦ign them wisely!
