A big part of the appeal for some Simmers is the various opportunities you have to discover different aspects of the intricate lore. There are many Easter eggs and secrets hiding in The Sims 4. The Discover University expansion pack, for example, plays into an all-time classic trope; secret societ♏ies.

The Secret Society In The Sims 4

A reunion of three robed Sims in the Sims 4

The Order of Enchantment, as they call themselves, is one of the best-kept secrets in the world of Britechester. Their goal is nothing sinister, they just want to appease the Sprites— invisible fairy-like creatures with the power to affect Sims' moods.

In return, the Sprites grant Sims positive moodlets that can help them succeed academically.

Research Archive Machines have an action that lets you research the local Secret Society. However, they will return an error when you attempt to search it up. This happens even after you max out the Research and Debate Skill, so it is likely the only true way to research the Secret Society is to try after you are accepted.

However, one of the search results for University Urban Legends addresses the Mysteries of the Statues. This pop-up gives hints as to what you can offer at each statue.

How To Find The Secret Society

An image split in two. On the left, a Britechester street in the Sims 4 is showing, there is an arrow pointing north on top, slightly tilted east. On the right, there is a sunkissed clearing with flowers and mushrooms. A single rocky formation stands in the middle.

The Order of Enchantment meets every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM in a secluded location in the town of Britechester. As opposed to hidden worlds like the Forgotten Grotto, their meeting place is just an open space that doesn't need any special interactions to be accessed.

To find them, you need to travel to Pepper's Pub in Downtown Britechester. Sliding your camera in a straight line North of the pub will take you to a suspicious clearing where you will find a grass spiral on the ground along with a small stone altar in the middle.

Head there during one of the ritual times to find them.

Finding the members of the Order gathered there will not make your Sim privy to any information. They won't even get any strange moodlets.

However, it will give you the option to Ask About a Strange Gathering, to which the member you asked will nervously reply that they're holding their gardening meeting as the other members visibly panic. That is the only interaction you can have as a non-member.

How To Join The Secret Society

An image split in two. A female Sim stands in front of the U-Brite statue, an arrow points at a bundle of light at her feet. On the right, a pop-up inviting the Sim to join the secret society is shown.

Your ticket to joining the Secret Society is hiding in plain sight. The statue students on the University grounds walk by on their way anywhere is actually the secret gateway into the Order.

It is irrelevant whether you attend Foxbury or U-Brite, since they each have a statue in the middle of campus.

To be acknowledged by the Sprites and subsequently welcomed into the Secret Society, you will need to make an offering. You can do so by interacting with the statue and selecting Make An Offering for Academic Success.

There are three specific kinds of items Sprites will be interested in and accept as offꦓerings.

  • Crystals and other minerals
  • Flowers
  • Food, especially sweet treats.

If you don't have any in your inventory, the option to make an offering will be whited out and will read '[Sim name] has nothing to offer. Use the Research Archive Machine to learn more' upon hovering over it.

Each offering you make will grant a Focused moodlet.

How To Advance In The Secret Society Rank

A Sim makes an offering at a small rock altar in The Sims 4. A list appears in the right corner of the screen.

Advancing ranks in the secret society works pretty much like any other progress-based mechanic in the game. You will have different sets of tasks that will refresh every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday morning, and completing them will fill a progress bar that will allow you to advance your rank. The tasks you will need to perform include:

  • Tend to Sprites' Garden
  • Offer a Harvestable at the Ritual Altar
  • Offer food at the Ritual Altar
  • Offer a Crystal at the Ritual Altar
  • Offer a Metal at the Ritual Altar
  • Help Other Students with Course Work
  • Be Friendly to 5 Sims

Helping Other Students

This is the only task on the list that is not super straightforward. To complete it, you need to head to the building on campus where you can sit in on a skill class or attend guest lectures.

Interacting with it will bring up a few options in the pie menu. You will want to select Tutor... and choose a skill your Sim has previously learned from the list that will pop up.

Once you finish the tutoring﷽ session, you🅠 will have completed the task.

What Happens If The Sprites Get Upset

A male Sim is pestered by yellowish orange Sprites in The Sims 4.

The entire point of being a part of the Secret Society is to constantly do things to keep the Sprites happy and deserving of their blessings. If you fail in your duties as a member of the ౠOrder, the Sprite𓃲s will be upset.

This will cause them to turn an orangey-yellow, and chase your Sim around, consistently lowering their motives. Your Sim will gain a tense moodlet, and you will find that the Sprites will interfere with your Sim🌳 trying to sleep or recuperate their energy in any way.
