Henford-On-Bagley is an idyllic place wi🃏🎃th winding rivers, rolling fields and rabbits and birds that are as wild as the village gossip. However, there are a few minor issues, the wild foxes being one. These creatures will stalk your chickens, and won't leave them alone. Unless, of course, you have an evil chicken. What could possibly go wrong?

What Does An Evil Chicken Do?

The Sims 4's evil chicken dialogue when an evil chick grows up displayed next to evil chicken outside coop.

An evil chicken is a specially bred farmyard companion which won't tolerate threats to your lot. It will ward off foxes, vampires, and other intruders, including Grim. While you have to really🥂 upset a regular🃏 chicken for it to fight you, the evil chicken is much more easily swayed, so beware.

Make sure to keep on its good side and your home will be free from intruders, and it could even save your life if Grim comes calling. However, upset the evil chicken at your peril, since an evil chicken scorned is liable to start setting things on fire...

How To Set Up A Chicken Coop For Breeding

The Sims 4 cottage living orange cow, white hen, and brown rooster outside a shed and coop.

There are a few steps to go before you can breed an evil chicken, but they are simple enough to follow. First, you need to get a basic chicken breeding setup.

Set Up A Chicken Coop

To breed an evil chicken, you must first have chickens. The two options here are to purchase a Chicken Coop from Build/Buy for $320, or move into a lot with one already there, such as the Cordelia's Secret Cottage starter home.

Now you have a chicken coop, simply click on the coop in live mode and select 'Purchase Chickens'. You can purchase up to eight chickens, which is the capacity of the coop, but if you want to breed them, you'll need to make sure there's room for new chicks.

We recommend one hen and one rooster. This is just so you can keep track easily of the chicken treats and eggs. If you want to speed run, you can have up to three pairs, but you'll need more spicy treats.

Look After Your Chickens

Make sure to build a good relationship with your chickens by feeding them each day and socialising with them. You can click on the individual chickens to socialise and hand feed them using the menu. You can also click the coop and select 'scatter food nearby' to ensure they have extra food if required.

Your chickens need to be kept happy, since happy chickens are more likely to stick around and lay eggs. However, regular eggs aren't going to give you evil chickens. You need obsidian eggs.

How To Get A Chicken To Lay Obsidian Eggs

A hatchable obsidian egg in a sims inventory with the chicken coop in background.

Evil chickens grow from hatchable obsidian eggs. In order to get these, you'll need to feed your chicken a spicy treat.

There are 13 types of animal treat and you can get them by:

  • Purchasing them from a rotating stock at Agnes and Agatha's Garden Stall
  • Winning them in the Finchwick Fair

Once you've fed an animal treat to one of your livestock, you'll learn the recipe an⛄d can produce more in ๊the future. The recipe you'll need for spicy treats is:

  • Spicy Mushroom
  • Any Vegetable

If you feed these to a cow you'll get fire milk, a llama will turn red and give you red wool, and a hen will lay an obsidian egg.

The game currently has a bug where any animal you take to the Finchwick Fair will get permanently stuck in your inventory! We reco𒀰mmend only taking animal produce and crops until this is fixed.

You'll need to make sure you have a rooster present in the coop in order to have a chance to gain hatchable obsidian eggs. This could take a few days, so you need to keep feeding the chickens spicy treats each day.

Cottage Living is all about cozy lifestyles for warm, fuzzy feelings. Here's a village fai💦r/li🐈fe guide to rekindle your faith in humanity.

Where To Find Spicy Mushrooms

A sim making animal treats in a cottage kitchen.

In order to make enough spicy treats to get a hatchable obsidian egg, you'll need spicy mushrooms. However, you cannot just purchase or harvest them like regular mushrooms.

You'll need to harvest strange mushrooms, which yield several different types of mushroom. These can be found in Henford-On-Bagley.

If you have Seasons installed, you'll only be able to harvest spicy mushrooms from these clumps during Summer and Winter.

The four locations are all in The Bramblewood neighbourhood. We used Cordelia's Secret Cottage as our base and marked this on the map below, along with the approximate locations.

Marked Right to Left: Cordelia's Secret Cottage, Bench By Waterfall, Snail Maze, Gazebo, Ruins.

From the house, walk down the winding path and head towards the waterfall. You'll see a park bench overlooking where the waterfall hits a flat area before cascading to the bottom. The mushrooms are just to the left of the bench.

Continue following this path straight down and keep to the main path until you hit the public bathroom. Here you can turn right and go over the bridge.

On the other side, turn left, before heading immediately right and going up the steps towards the ruins in the centre of the island. The mushroom patch here is between the ruined walls to the left of the largest tree.

After this, head back down the stairs and retrace your steps. When you get to the bridge, keep going around the edge of the island. You'll soon see another bridge, this time a fallen tree, on the right-hand side, and a Gazebo on your left. The mushroom patch is between these.

Once you've gathered these, head across the fallen tree bridge. On the other side, turn right, and you'll see the mushroom patch, just before the entrance to Sophie Snail's maze.

When you have the spicy mushrooms, you'll also need any vegetable. You can grow vegetables in your garden, order them from the grocery delivery service, purchase from the food stall, o🔜r order a packet of starter veg. They can also be found around the world.

You'll likely find a few regular mushrooms among your spicy mushroom harvest which you can use, so don't get rid ♓of these.

To craft the treats, select your fridge then navigate to More Choices - Make Animal Treat. You'll then get a pop-up menu and can choose from the list. Anything you can't make yet will be greyed out.

How To Use Animal Treats To Turn A Chicken Evil

Once you have the spicy treats in your inventory, head over to your chickens. Make sure to select a hen, and then Give Feed - Spicy Treat. This will place a pile of red seed on the ground and the hen should begin eating it.

If the chicken doesn't eat the treat,ꦆ try clicking on the pile o𒀰f seed and using the call chicken to eat option.

A chicken which eats a spicy treat will lay an Obsidian Egg when it is next due to lay. However, it can take a few attempts to get an egg which is hatchable.

As long as there is a Rooster in the coop, and the hen keeps eating spicy treats you will get one evenꦜtually. The happier the hen and rooster both are, the faster the process will be.

Hatching An Evil Chick

The SIms 4 two sims next to an evil chick in the farm.

Once you have a hatchable egg simply click on it in your inventory and select Incubate In Coop. This will start the hatching process, which takes 2-3 Sim days.

As long as a fox hasn't disturbed the process, you will get an evil chick when the egg hatches. You can tell it's evil due to both the notification and the fire in its eyes.

After a further 2-3 Sim days it will grow up into an evil chicken.

Speeding Up The Process With Midnight Treats

The Sims 4 menu to feed a midnight treat to a chicken and transform it.

If you want to skip the hatching process, you can do this with a Midnight Treat. The midnight treat will turn any chicken instantly into an evil chicken. However, it's not as simple as you may think.

Crafting a Midnight Treat will require:

  • Cowberry Jam
  • Obsidian Egg

The obsidian egg you can get from feeding a hen a Spicy Treat, as detailed a⛎bove, but the Cowberry Jam requires more effort.

You'll need a cowberry, which you can fish up from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the locations in our Cow Plant guide. After this, you'll need to use the new to make it into jam.

Once you've made the treat feed it to any chicken to instantly turn them evil.

When a chicken eats a midnight treat, it becomes a completely new chicken, lit💃erally. Its name will be reset and so will your relationship with it.

How To Cheat To Get An Evil Chicken

If this all seems too time-consuming, you can also cheat an evil chicken. To do this, follow these steps:

Bring up the cheat box by pressing:

Ctrl + Shift + C (PC)

Command + Shift + C (Mac)

All Four Shoulder Buttons (Console)

Then enter the following:

testingcheats on

Followed by:

bb.showhiddenobjects on

Once this is done, go into the search box in build mode and type Debug then hit enter. You should see **DEBUG** appear on the menu above the bar. Click on one of these.

This last step is not always necessary, but if the hidden objects don't show straight away, this forces them.

You can now apply the Cottage Living filterꦡ and in the build menu you will ജfind the following:

  • Spicy Mushrooms
  • Spicy Treat
  • Midnight Treat
  • Obsidian Egg
  • Hatchable Obsidian Egg
  • Evil Chicken
  • Evil Rooster

You can simply take whichever items you want to speed up the process, from egg right up to chicken. Once you have your evil chicken or rooster, simply click on it and select 'Ask For Evil Chicken Help' and your home will be protected.

The higher your relationship with the chicken, the more fiercely it will guard your home. If your relationship turns sour, it will start setting fire to things. So make sure to keep it fed and give it lots of atten🧔tion!
