Every sim is different, and they all have different desires. These are subject to change as time goes on, but we'll heಌlp you sort out which ones are best and how you can keep your sims happy and fulfilled in life!

What Are Wants?

In The Sims 2, every sim has a total of four wants at a time. These wants are based around their aspirations and current events.

A sim that has the Knowledge Aspiration will more than likely want to buy bookshelves, increase their logic skill, and have meaningful conversations. A sim with the Romance Aspiration will want to have more dates and romantic interactions with sims.

Likewise, a sim with the Grilled Cheese aspiration will want to eat grilled cheese. Constantly.

Fulfilling these wants will make your sims happy, increasing their overall mood and aspiration meter. When your sim is in a good mood, they're more likely to do what you ask instead of go off on their own.

If there's a specific want you want your sim to hold onto, you can lock it by right-clicking on the desire. This will prevent the want from rerolling as life goes on.

Sims can obtain up to six want slots if they graduate from college!

What Is A Lifetime Want?

For sims, a Lifetime Want is their heart's true desire. This is the goal that keeps them going and will keep them fulfilled throughout their lifetime. Upon achieving this goal, a sim receives a large amount of influence and aspiration points.

Platinum aspiration status will be obtained and slowly decay through the sim's life, making it the ultimate goal in marking a sim's life as complete.

What Are Fears?

Fears are the opposite of wants. Sims start with three fears at a time, and if any come to fruition, they'll lose a great deal of aspiration. Fears can be as simple as being rejected by others to more dangerous scenarios, like fires or burglary.

Keep an eye on your sim's fears and take the necessary precautions to protect them. Some fears cannot be avoided, but you can take action to reduce the damage done. For example, a security system or smoke detector can keep your sim safe if the worst happens.

How To Fill The Aspiration Meter

To fill the aspiration meter, you'll want to continue to fulfill the wants and desires of your sims. This will help improve their mood and earn them rewards that can ma𒀰ke their littl༒e lives that much easier.

As their lives improve, you'll find that interactions become easier and that their overall dreams are within reach. Below are all the rewards you can obtain♚ if you help your sim fulfill their wants and save those valuable point꧒s:
