How To Activate Cheats
Activating cheats is simpler in the Sims 1 and 2 and the process is the same for both. All you need to do is press the following keys at the same time:
Control Shift C
If you've played The Sims 4, you'll recognise this standard shortcut to open the cheat code text box. However, you do not need to type anything to enable cheat codes in these games. Just type in the codes then press enter.
Working Cheats For The Sims
Unfortunately, there are few cheats available for The Sims 1 currently. However, we can still cheat to get money, so you can all breathe a sigh of relief. Here's the full list.

All these codes should be used in live mode, except move_objects on, which should be used in build or buy mode.
Money cheats can be used anywhere, except the neighbourhood screen so you'll need to move Sims into an empty lot, use the cheat, then either build a home or evict and move the family with their new wealth.

The Sims 2 has more cheats you can use, although a few have limited value. Due to how many there are, we've split them up into categories based on the game mode they are used in.

Testing Cheats Hidden Menu
You don't need to use the testingcheats codes to use the cheat codes above. However, there is a testingcheats code for The Sims 2 which will add a new menu to Sims, allowing you to access different options. The cheat is:

Once the code has been inputted you can hold shift and click on a selected Sim to access the new menu. Options added include being able to adjust aspirations, add to secret societies, change outfits and even kill.
Use this cheat at your own risk. It is buggy and can kill Sims with a ✅misclick𒁃, so save your game before enabling.
