The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is chock-full of goodies to find just from simple exploration. Shrines are among the best finds as they grant players a Light of Blessing with each completion. These are then turned into maximizin🧜g Link's overall health or stamina - very necessary buffs for combating the Demon King.
The Joku-usin Shrine is, perhaps, one of the dicier shrine⛄s to locate and complete. In fact, to make your life easier, you should complete a bulk of the mainline story before even attempting to track it down. You'll see what w𝔍e mean below in our step-by-step guide.
3 How To Locate the Joku-usin 𝐆Shrine 🍬
So, let's get right to it. The Joku-usin Shrine is located on the Thunderhead Isles. 🦄Yep, the big islands covered in a perpetual storm that make it impossible to see five feet in front of you.
You could just head on over to the Popla Foothills Skyview tower and glide southwest into the storm and attempt to make your way from island to island nearly blind. But this me🌠thod would be rather frustrating.
How To Clear The Storm Over Thunderhead Isles
The best method is to wait until you've cleared the storm through completing a series of mainline story missions. Here are the two mainline story missions, eacꦅh with its own sౠeries of objectives, that you will need to complete to clear the storm from Thunderhead Isles:
- Regional Phenomena - This requires that you've found and collected the first four sages to aid you in your quest and completed and investigated Hyrule Castle (a moment that will result in a major boss fight).
- Secret of the Ring Ruins - This quest can only be accessed after Regional Phenomena is complete. Head to Kakariko Village and speak with Tauro and Calip at the entrance to the settlement to begin this quest. This mission will culminate in obtaining a new armor set and using it to dispel the storm over Thunderhead Isles.
Traveling To the Joku-usin Shrine
The easiest method of reaching Thunderhead Isles is to use the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower and glide southwest. Just make su🍃re you've bolstered your stamina a bit to endure the🌳 glide. Once you reach the first of the floating islands, begin making your way toward the center.
You'll see from the map thไat the islands look like a winding serpent or dragon. The Joku-usin shrine is in the center of it.
To hop from island to island, you'll have to make extensive use of your abilities, especially ascend.
Even though the heavy storm will have cleared away so that you can at least see where you're going, it will still be raining. Remove items that attract lightning strikes, and also forget about just climbing everything (unl🎀ess you have the necessary upgraded no-slip armor to do so). Ascend, your glider, and your ability to craf🤡t are your friends here.
Eventually, you will reach the center island, where you'll see the shrine encased in a large rocky structure. A railing runs underneath it. You'll need to grab some boards and fans (or anything you prefer to use from your own inventory) to glide across the rail underneath and then ascend up through the floor.
Once inside💎, you now have access to the Joku-usin shrine.
2 Completing The 🍷Joku-usin Shrine
You might wish that this shrine is a Rauru's Blessing shrine where you can just walk in and claim your prize and walk out. Those typically occur in shrines that are difficult to reach, as traveling there is the ultimate task. But you'd be mistaken with the Joku-usin shrine. It's a Proving Grounds trial.
That's right, you're stripped of your gear once again and must eliminate the constructs throughout the arena. With that said, here are 🅺some tips for defeating the constructs at play:
- Target a construct with a bow and arrows first. Collect the arrows and bow, then grab the from the small trees throughout the arena. Fire arrows at constructs standing on tall pillars to stun and deal heavy damage. Really, the shock fruit should kill these particular constructs in a single blow.
- For melee constructs, focus on timing your dodges to dish out the "flurry rush" of attacks. Be sure to use the or other items dropped to boost your stick or spear's damage output by combining them.
- If you're not the best at timing your dodges, the is a better melee weapon to focus on, as you can attack from a greater distance. This will help you stay further out of harm's way when the constructs swing at you. Additionally, your attacks are much quicker.
- Remember, shock fruit also makes the constructs drop their weapons when stunned. So you can hurry up and snag them so they can't pick them up again.
1 Rewards
Once the shrine is completed, your gear will be returned to you just like other Proving Grounds shrines. You will then be able to collect the Light of Blessing. However, before doing so, there is🎉 a chest available.
Inside is an . This one, in part🐽icular, grants you a high level of electricity resistance lasting well over 11 minutes. So, this is a pretty🦩 valuable find.
