Shrines are there to test your combat skills, your ability to solve puzzles, and at times your patience. There are even hidden shrines that aren’t obvious at first. As you explore the overworld ♍area of Lanayru, you’ll come across a lonely Zonai construct that protects one just li💟ke that.

How To Start The Dyeing To Find It Quest

Link receives a quest from an ancient robotic construct.

While exploring the Lanayru region southwest of Zora’s Domain, and south of the Rutala River, you may stumble across an odd structure up on the hills. You’ll find yourself almost right between the Quatta’s Shelf and Rabia Plain labels on your map.

A lone Steward Construct stands in front of a puzzling contraption, near coordinates (2398, -0521, 0154). Talk to the Steward Construct, and it’ll let you know that it is protecting a shrine, and then it will offer you a riddle.

Dye the white pattern black when the sun awakens in the sky. Then wi✤ll ꧒the sacred shrine appear.

Thus, the Dyeing To Find It quest starts. Right next to you is an axle that will rotate the structure around. You will also see a couple of wooden boards lying near the structure.

A centaur-like Lynel enemy is spotted through Link's scope.

There is a Lynel prowling the fields below this area. Don't get too close to the edge, otherwise, you may attract its attention while trying to complete this quest.

How To Solve The Riddle

Link uses his abilities to solve a riddle for a quest.

Your first step is to figure out the riddle, and which “white pattern” needs to be dyed black. Simply, if you look behind the structure into the dip in the ground, you will see a white stone design set into the wall of rock.

To dye it black, you will need to cast a shadow over the white stone using the rotating structure above it.

If you look at the structure, you will notice that one side already has some stone jutting out, and the other sides have indents carved out of the stone. Make your way to the axle and rotate the structure until the side with an indented “T” is facing due east, toward the side the Steward Cons𒈔truct is standing.

Next, use Ultrahand to grab one of the wooden boards and insert it into the left side of the structure.

Once you have altered the stone structure so that the shadow it will cast will match up with the white rock below, you have to wait until “the sun awakens in the sky.” Conveniently, there is an extinguished campfire nearby. Ignite the campfire however you deem fit, and then wait until morning as the riddle explains. When morning comes, simply wait a few moments for the shadow cast by the structure to “dye the white pattern black,” and a short cutscene will play if you did everything c𓂃orrectly, completing the quest.

The sun casts a shadow on white stone, solving a riddle.

If the shadow doesn't line up correctly, just adjust the structure however you may need. Rest again at the campfire and try again.

Enter The Kurakat Shrine

Link stands in front of the stone-like Kurakat Shrine.

Successfully solving the riddle will reveal the Kurakat Shrine behind the original structure. Examine the shrine to🦄 activate its teleport point, then enter ꦕit to claim your reward.

The chest in the shrine will contain a , and you can finish out the shrine to receive another Light of Blessing.
