Upon arriving in Kakariko Village, it will be clear that the Upheaval impacted the community here, too. Multiple circular ruins from the sky have crashed down around the village. Research efforts have begun into these Ring Ruins and their meaning, but the Ring Ruins have 🔯also attracted some tourist interest to the village.

How To Start A Trip Through History Quest

Link talks with Bugut, an interested traveler.

To start A Trip Through History, you will need to find the tourist named Bugut who wanders around Kakariko Village. He will usually stick to the main paths in ❀the village.

Bugut will comment on how there are stone slabs at four of the Ring Ruins with ancient writings on them, bu🧸t they are too high up fo🧸r him to check out himself.

Since you look like a plucky young adventurer, he’ll ask you to find out what each of the ancient slabs say. The leader of🌞 the Zonai Survey Team, Tauro, has started translating the Zonai scrip🍌t off the slabs.

You will need to read Tauro’s translation notes for each of the stone slabs for this quest.

You can either report back to Bugut each time after you read the writings at a slab, or you can wait until you've read all four to fill him in.

The Eastern And Southern Ring Ruins

Link reads the translation of an ancient language at two research sites.

Perhaps the easier pair of ruins to begin with are the Eastern and Southern Ring Ruins.

If you are in the lower area of Kakariko Village, the group of buildings near where Paya works have ladders you can climb to start making your way to the first ruin. All the ruins are on the hills above Kakariko Village, so keep climbing to gꦇet to a higher elevation.

The Eastern Ring Ruin is actually a bit northeast of the main village. Upon reaching this ruin, you can read Tauro’s journal to learn how certain ancient p✃eople’s abilities were enhanced by secret sto♈nes.

After avoiding the nearby East Hill Chasm, continuing clockwise around Kakariko Village will guide you to the Southern Ring Ruin. These are just barely southeast of the main village. At thes🌃e ruins, Tauro’s notes mention the sages that protected Hyrule🍸 long ago.

Here are the coordinates for each of these ruins.

Objective

Location (x, y, z)

Eastern Ring Ruin

Southern Ring Ruin

(1938, -1080, 0166)

The Nestled And Large Ring Ruins

Link reads the translation of an ancient language at two research sites.

If you continue in a clockwise path around Kakariko Village, you’ll reach the Nestled Ring Ruin next, and in the middle is a group of Bokoblins that has set up camp.

Make quick work of the monsters to clear🥃 them out, and you won’t be bothered wh𒁏en you go to read the slab’s translation here.

The Large Ring Ruin will be your final destination, and it can be found north of the Lantern Lake area of the village. If you continue in your clockwise fashion, you will soon see a bunch of scaffolding and ladders that you are able to climb.

After climbing to a certain point, you will see a very sleepy man taking a nap on the slab itself.

While you don’t have to wake him up in order to read Tauro’s translation notes nearby, you might as well, as it is part of another local quest.

Here are the coordinates for each of these ruins.
