When it comes to replaying 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Last of Us Part 2, I'm the upside down world version of Al Pacino in The Godfather Part 3: just when I think I'm in, they pull me back out.
The Last Of Us Part 2 Should Be Easy To Return To
The Last of Us Part 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, and has been since I played it for review in 2020. It's stuck with me in a way few games have and, every time I return to it, a certain scene (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:you know the one) still has the power to twist my guts. It’s more than just that one scene, honestly. That conversation with Joel on the porch; the kiss at the Jackson dance; that final moment, when Ellie contemplates what her quest for revenge has cost her in her empty house — it has a handful of scenesꦚ that hit me harder than anything else in the medium.
And yet every time I return to The Last of Us Part 2 for a replay, I always end up deleting it. Well, not exactly always. I did play it through to completion twice, but both times were during those hectic pre-release weeks. I was working on guides for the game, which necessitated spending a lot of time within its grim world, taking hundreds of pictures with the game's best-in-class photo mode, and searching for every Quarter and Trading Card.
So, there is an element of been there, done that but I liked being there and doing that. There aren't any levels where the game drags for me, and though I don't disagree that it's a bit too long, there isn't anything I would want to cut. I like it all.

Am I Just Not The Kind Of Person That Replays Games?
But I still keep deleting it. I excitedly downloaded the game as soon as the review copy came in in 2020, finished it twice, and then once I was done milking it for content, started a third playthrough. I was looking forward to having a chance to finally play the game like a normal person, not like an eagle-eyed collectible-hunting freak. On that attempt, I made it through the opening section in Jackson, got distracted, and ended up deleting it to free up hard drive space. After 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Last of Us remake came out on PS5, I attempted another run after rolling credits on Part 1. I made it a little further, but still didn't make it to Abby's campaign before deleting it again.
This year, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered came out, and I bought it. Since January, I've made it through just the first two days of Ellie's story. I didn't even get to see the cool new bells and whistles, like the commentary, the roguelike mode, or the Lost Levels, because I was trying to use them as a carrot. My plan has been to reward myself once I get to Abby's half. But today, like so many days before, I deleted it to free up some space. I'm finally gonna try Destiny 2, and see what The First Descendant is all about.
The Last of Us Part 2 has been a test case in just how difficult I find it to replay games, even the ones I love most. If I can't get myself to replay The Last of Us Part 2, a personal favorite, I may just need to pack up any hopes of ever being the kind of person who returns to games at all. In fact, playing this game twice already puts it in the top 0.1 percent of all the games this guy (who has never earned a Platinum trophy in his life) has ever played. Maybe someday I'll change. But that day, like Seattle Day 3, is out of reach.
