How To Make A Profile And Update Your Battle Settings
Before you can start matchmaking in KOF15, you'll have to set up your profile and battle settings. These settings allow you to register a primary character/team, set preferre🌟d stages and music, and give yourself a title.
After opening the online menu for the first time, you'll receive a message regarding the tutorial matches you need to fight before receiving a ranking. Then, the game will direct you to the battle settings menu, pictured in the image above.
The battle settings separate into two sections, one for registering teams for Team Vs. battles and one for registering individual characters for Single Vs. battles. Both secꦯtions contain the same three items.

Registering A Custom Team
Most of the online battle settings are straightforward. However, registering a custom team takes a little more time. That's because the Registered Teams layout is slightly different from the Registered Character menu.
The Registered Teams' menu consists of fifteen slots, one for every official team plus two extra. It's great that you can pick any official team from the game and get started. However, you'll likely want to create a team of your three favorite fighters once you get more familiar with the game.
Luckily, all the fifteen team slots are customizable. First, highlight the team you wish to change and press the edit button. Then, you'll see a window much like the Registered Character Select menu. You can choose each member of your custom team one by one at this point.
Lastly, after confirming your new team, claim it in the Registered Teams' menu like you would any other.
Additional Battle Setting Options
Besides character, stage, and BGM selection, the Battle Settings menu includes additional options, which we'll break down below.

Viewing Your Profile
When you wish to view or update your profile in the future, you can click on Profile, under the Online tab, in the Main Menu. This screen will display your profile as others will see it online. Some information included in your profile are statistics (wins, losses, draw, etc.), top three characters, rank, title, and a Fair Play Score.
You may wonder, what's a Fair Play Score? In short, a fair play score shows how reliable you are as an online competitor. Its purpose is to encourage🔜 good sportsmanship and discourage cheating or abandoning matches.
If you discon💯nect from an online match, this score will decrease. If the fair play score drops below a certain level, you will incur a penalty.
Luckily, you ღcan recover your score by completing ranked matches 🔯without disconnections.
How To Get Your Player Ranking
Let's face it, playing fighting games online is downright intimidating, especially when facing off against seasoned players. Luckily, KOF 15 will help you find your place by evaluating your skills before throwing you into matchmaking.
This tutorial consists of three matches against the computer to test your skills. The first battle is the easiest, and then each consecutive battle afterward increases in difficulty. By the end of the third battle, you'll receive a ranking.
So, what should you do to earn a high starting ranking? Well, it's a good idea to form a strong team of your most familiar fighters before entering these battles. In turn, you can get plenty of practice from the single-player content, including the tutorial, training, story, versus, and mission modes.
However, the tutorial is supposed to help the game assess your play style-not judge how perfect you are. So, there's no pressure to win every tutorial battle. Therefore, if you want to wing it and jump into the online tutorial, we say go for it!
