What Is An Iceberg Theory?

It Has Layers

If you’re not familiar with Iceberg Theory content, we’re going to cover things from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and anime that either don’t make sense, have been left intentionally ambiguous, or haven’t been answere🍸d by Gege yet in the manga. The concept flows much like an iceberg, with basic-level theories at the top, and darker, more complex topics the further down we go. Bear in mind that this theory has some major spoilers for the manga so if you’re not caught up on the latest chapte👍rs or have only seen the anime so far, proceed with caution.

Where Is Sukuna’s Body?

Jujutsu Kaisen Iceberg Theory Explained - Sukana's Body

Let’s start with an easy one. In the double-page spread of the first chapter of the manga, we’re treated to a very cool piece of art featuring Yuji, Megumi, Gojo, Nobara, and the withered and decayed body of Sukuna. This marks the only time we see what we assume to be what Sukana’s body looks like in the 🀅modern day.

Much of the early arcs of the manga are dedicated to Yuji consuming Sukuna’s fingers, but the body itself is never mentioned or seen again. Presumably, Sukuna’s body was destroyed in some way when he was defeated hundreds of years ago, but his fingers are borderline indestructible,🤡 to the point where Gojo can’t even destroy them. So that begs ꦗthe question, where is the rest of Sukuna’s body, and why haven’t we seen it again?

Why Do Sukana’s Fingers Look Different?

Jujutsu Kaisen Iceberg Theory Explained - Why Do Sukana's Fingers Look Different-1

Why don’t we stick to Sukana for our next theory at the tip of the Jujutsu Kaisen iceberg theory and take a look at his fingers? Sukana has twenty of them, don’t forget, thanks to his four arms and hands, but rarely do they look the same, which is odd since they’re all from the same perꦬson. There’s an argument here that it has been a thousand years or so since they were cut from Sukana’s body, but that stil𝐆l doesn’t really explain much.

There are some fingers that seem to have tiny tree branches coming off of them, another that is all crystalline at the base, some that appear rocky, and even one that seems to be like flowing water or maybe is growing seaweed from i✤t. All these elements seem to manifest at the base of the finger, right where it attaches 🅰to the hand.

A prevailing theory is that each finger could contain a unique power or technique, rather than just an element of Sukuna’s soul. This could slot 🧸into a later theory about how Sukuna is able to use multiple techniques.

Human Potential

Jujutsu Kaisen Iceberg Theory Explained - Human Potential

The main conflict of Jujutsu Kaisen consists of an eternal war between cursed s🐭pirits and jujutsu sorcerers and a single line from Sukana from chapter 116 while speaking to the special grade cursed spirit Jogo. Here, Sukana says: “Humans. Jujutsu sorcerers. Cursed Spirits. You’re not bad compared to those I fought over the last thousand years.

The strange thing here is that Sukana acknowledges humans as being ‘not🍰 bad’ despite the fact that there are few characters in the manga who can participate in these fights or even see cursed spirits. This seems to imply that at some point in mankind’s history, there were humans who could fight on par with cursed spirits. We do see characters without cursed energꦯy and techniques fight through abilities like Heavenly Restrictions, like Maki and Toji Zenin, but does that mean they are still human?

The Next Six Eyes User

Jujutsu Kaisen Iceberg Theory Explained - What Happens to The Six Eyes Now

Now that everyone has had some time to come to terms with Gojo’s tragic defeat and seemingly final death, there’s one question that comes to mind (there are a few but here’s one I guess), who will be the next Six Eyes user?

It is stated several times in the manga that there is only one Six Eyes user at a time. The hugely powerful ability lets the user read cursed energy in a way no other can, letting Gojo to not only understand techniques on an intuitive level,𝔍 but also control his own down to the atomic level of detail.

The Six Eyes ability is unique to the Gojo clan and has proven to be a problem for Kenjaku in the past, with losing twice to different sorcerers with the ability, and then him taking actions to eliminate them before they could become a threat. As far as anyone knows, Gojo is the last of his own clan, so theoretically, it could be gone forever. That said, the one known living relation to Gojo is Yuta Okkotsu, though by a very distant ancestor. Whil🎉e it is unlikely Yuta will directly inherit the technique, it could still live on through Yuta’s children.

How Many Colors Does Gojo Really Have?

Jujutsu Kaisen Iceberg Theory Explained - How Many Colors Does Gojo Have Access To

Okay, this one is an exclusive anime theory so take it with a grain of salt. There’s an anime-only scene where Gojo is testing out his newly awakened abilities after returni♒ng from the dead after he failed to protect the Star Plasma Vessel.

In this scene, Gojo is twirling a pencil in his fingers while talking about his Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue and Cursed Technique Reversal: Red techniques, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:two sides of the Limitless ability that he has control flawlessly thanks to his other special ability, the ༺Six Eyes. While talking about each ability, Gojo’s hand is outlin𓄧ed in a red or blue glow, representing each unique power.

However, while talking further, his hand glows white and then green of all colors. Having other colors and powers associated with them isn’t too far outside the realm of possibility, since Gojo was able to fuse both powers into Hollow Technique: Purple, a secret technique known only to a select few. Gojo is talking about teleportation and domain expansion when his hand glows green, possibly hinting at the green power being related to his ability to traverꦚse huge distances seemingly instantaneously. But then, what possible power does Gojo have that white could represent, and how much stronger can this guy get?

Can Geto Come Back?

Jujutsu Kaisen Iceberg Theory Explained - Can Geto Get Revivied

In chapter 91, we get to see something very strange occur that seems to throw out everything that the manga works to establish about how the soul and the body are united. In this chapter, Gojo is caught by the special grade cursed object, the Prison Realm, and is waiting to be fully sealed by Geto, who has finally revealed himself actually to be the ancient curse use𒊎r Kenjaku.

Gojo is shocked by this revelation, as he thought Geto to be dead and certainly never expected his body to be used by another person in this way. Quick on his feet, Gojo speaks to Geto, or at least his body, asking if he is going to allow Kenjaku to manipulate him. Geto's body moves on its own accord, grabbing its o♑wn neck in an apparent attempt to kill Kenjaku.

Previously, Mahito had thought that a person’s soul manifested before the body, and the body grew to match the soul, but with this, Kenjaku seems to confirm that the two are inseparable. We see something similar happen later on in the manga, when another character, Granny Ogami, resurrects Toji Zenin’s soul into her pseudo-grandson. The grandson’s body matches the soul, and, likely because Toji is under a heavenly restriction, he forces the two to unify.

What Is Sukana’s Black Box?

Jujutsu Kaisen Iceberg Theory Explained - Black Box

There’s a lot of back and forth about what happens here, but during Sukana’s fight against Jogo, he unleashes a strange fire arrow attack. In the manga, Sukana simply says “⬛ open.” For a long time, manga readers debated about wꦜhat the ‘black box’ was. Previously, Sukana only used C🐭leave and Dismantle, two attacks with slicing effects much like a sword, though with different effects.

This one has been partly solved by Gege coming out and saying that the black box icon here was just a way of censoring, but even the🐷n, that opens up further questions. Why didn’t Ge🅺ge want us to know what Sukana was saying here? And what does he mean when he says he thought Jogo would have known about Sukana’s flame ability?

Will Gojo Come Back From The Dead?

Jujutsu Kaisen Iceberg Theory Explained - Can Gojo Come Back

There’s a sneaky little trend in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga that fans have picked up on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:over the course of the series. Chara𒆙cters who die don’t seem to stay dead. Of course, there are those who definitely do, there are plenty who have either directly come back from death, or who don’t actually die and return to the series to fight again.

Let’s take a look at the first time this happens. In the prequel chapters and film, Rika, Yuta’s childhood best friend, is killed in a car accident, but she ‘survived’ in the form of a curse for years, until Yuta learned to release her. Then there’s our good boy Yuji. He has died multiple times before coming back to life. The first time happened when Sukuna ripped out his heart only for him to recover hours later, and then he got to come back to life again (figuratively) when he was rev💮ealed to his friends Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki💙.

Gojo has also seemingly died once already, having been stabbed through the throat by Toji Zenin during their fight, before Gojo was able to fully awaken his Limitless abilities. The most intriguing element of this theory is that Gojo’s body disappears immediately after his assumed death, having been teleported away by Kirara and Ui Ui in chapter 248. But, why? Is there some way f𓂃or him to return? Is t♏here another sorcerer out there who has a powerful enough reverse curse technique and is able to heal him?
