After taking some time to think, Astrid has wisely chosen to listen to the Night Mother. Though it is clear that the Night Mother's presence in Skyrim has left Astrid insecure, she allows you to carry out the instructions you received𒁏 when you last climbed into the coffin.
This quest is not very long, but it establishes the overarching objective that will drive much of the Dark Brotherhood's story going forward. There are also a few opportunities for mischief and a few snags you might get caught on. You may want a guide, just to be on the safe side.
Starting The Silence Has Been Broken
This quest begins when you return after completing Contract: Kill Hern or Contract: Kill Lurbuk. Astrid will stop you as you enter the Sanctuary to ask you to follow up with the lead the Night Mother provided you in Whispers In The Dark. You will need to travel to Volunruud, to the north of Whiterun.
You will find Volunruud's undead inhabitants dead as you enter. You will be able to take their weapons and treasure to sell. Look out for the journal Heddic's Volunruud Notes near the entrance. It starts the quest Silenced Tongues.
Your contact, Amaund Montierre is waiting inside. With an attitude befitting a blue-blooded aristocrat, he explains to you that the target of his contract is none other than the Emperor, Titus Mede II.
Assuring you that he has a plan and sufficient compensation in mind, he claps his hands and has his servant, Rexus, give you a Sealed Letter, to provide to your leader, and a Jeweled Amulet, to cover the expenses.
Reporting Back To Astrid
With your transaction complete, you need to return to the Sanctuary and relay everything to Astrid.
You can read the Sealed Letter if you are curious as to its contents. It will, in vague terms, outline the series of contracts you will be undertaking after the completion of this quest.
Astrid is in disbelief at the target, though she is eager to seize upon the opportunity. After reading the letter, she asks you to fence the Amulet by bringing it to Delvin Mallory. Delvin is found in the Ragged Flagon in Riften. If you have yet to meet him, you will have to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:fight your way through the Ratway to reach him.
This is a good opportunity to get acquainted with the Thieves Guild. You can speak to Brynjolf to start 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:A Chance Arrangement and join the ranks of another unsavory group. They are much less bloodthirsty if that is something that disappoints.
His jaw drops when he sees the Amulet. It is an incredibly rare badge of office used by high-ranking Imperials in the Council of Elders. Like any good fence, he is all too happy to take it off your hands, asking you to pass a Letter of Credit to Astrid in compensation.
Astrid is eagerly waiting for your return. Telling you to get your best clothes, it's time for you to crash a wedding in the next quest, Bound Until Death.
