One of Whiterun's most distinctive traits is a bald-looking tree in the middle of the Wind District. It is the Gildergreen, a cutting from the oldest tree in Skyrim, Eldergleam. Gildergreen has long been the center of worship for many of Kynareth's followers. That worship has begun to fade as the tree has begun to wither.

If you are so inclined, you can step in and restore the Gildergreen to its former glory in the quest, The Blessings of Nature. You will get to learn more about the province's flora and the rich history that lies behind it on this adventure.

Starting The Blessings Of Nature

A man speaks to a priestess by the dried-out trunk of a dying tree in the center of a rustic city.

You are likely to pass Danica Pure-Spring on your many trips to the Cloud District or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Jorrvaskr at Whiterun. The priestess of Kynareth loudly laments the Gildergreen's sad state each time you pass by when she is sitting by the tree.

She will be glad for a listening ear and explains that she has a plan to restore the Gildergreen. She needs a unique dagger called Nettlebane to cut a way to the Eldergleam and extract some sap to rejuvenate the Gildergreen.

Getting Nettlebane

A man leaps through the air, trailing fire, as he strikes down at a mutated and misshapen woman.

As much as Danica wants to handle the issue herself, Nettlebane is being held by hagravens at Orphan Rock. She does not have the martial skill needed to defeat the hagravens and asks you to take it on her behalf.

Orphan Rock is located at the foot of the Throat of the World. You can get there by fast traveling to Helgen and following the road southeast. It is a short distance away.

You will need to dispatch several magic-wielding hags when you arrive. Clamber up Orphan Rock, past the Forsworn-themed tents, to find a single hagraven at the top. She is a challenging foe, especially at lower levels. You will need to defeat her to get Nettlebane. With the weapon in hand, return to Danica in Whiterun.

Danica will be disgusted by the dagger and refuse to touch it. She asks you to complete the final step and head to the Eldergleam Sanctuary to get the sap.

A nearby worshiper, Maurice Jondrelle, will ask to join you as he has always wanted to see the Eldergleam. You can choose if he will join you.

Maurice will not take up a follower spot, though he is a weak fighter that should be kept away from enemies. You should go directly to the Sanctuary if you are allowing him to tag along.

The Eldergleam Sanctuary

A blossoming sapling stands proudly in the center of a city as a people sit in its shade.

The Eldergleam Sanctuary is east of Whiterun, located in the hot springs to the south of Windhelm. The Sanctuary itself does not have any enemies within. You only need to follow the path to the roots and attack them with Nettlebane. The roots will part as soon as they are hit, giving you a path to the Eldergleam.

If you brought Maurice along, he will be horrified and demand you to stop. If you explain the situation to him, he will propose an alternative solution. The quest will have𒆙 two possible outcomes based on 🦄what you choose.

Take the sap

Attacking the Eldergleam with Nettlebane will get you the sap, though two spriggans will appear and attack you. If Maurice was brought along, he will turn hostile as well. It is possible to end the quest without killing him by sheathing your weapon after the spriggans are defeated.

Allowing Maurice to pray

If you allow Maurice to pray at the Eldergleam, you will be rewarded with a sapling and will not have to fight anything. Though disappointed, Danica will accept the sapling.

In both instances, Danica will be pleased with the outcome and work on restoring the Gildergreen. After several days, the tree will be in full bloom. She will become available as a Master-level Restoration trainer, and you will be able to keep Nettlebane as a weapon.
