With the bait set, it is now time to weaken the target. The next stage of the Emperor's assassination will need you to undermine his security across Skyrim. Having identified the man responsible for the Emperor's protection, you are sent to discredit him and eliminate one of his most trusted commanders.
This operation could be conducted by killing your target in the wilds as he travels across the provi🍌nce but you are offered a bonus for killing him within a city instead. With the need to track him down and end his life at the perfect moment, this quest is for a seasoned assassin.
Starting Breaching Security
This quest starts after you complete Bound Until Death. Astrid gives you no time to rest before sending you to speak to Gabriella, another member 🐭of the Brotherhood at the🌳 Sanctuary.
Gabriella gives you the plan. Your mission is to kill Gaius Maro and plant an Incriminating Letter on his body. As the son of the Penitus Oculatus' commander, his death would deprive his father of a trusted lieutenant while the planted evidence would weaken the force as a whole.
There will be a bonus if Gaius is killed within a city. Should you accomplish this, Gabriella will give you a token to engage the services of the fortune-teller, Olava the Feeble. Naturally, pulling this off will be much more challenging.
You need to head to Dragon Bridge near Solitude to find your target.
Dragon Bridge
Your target will be saying his goodbyes to his family at the Penitus Oculatus Outpost when you arrive before heading off for his inspections. While you could tail him into a cityཧ, there is a much more elegant way to figure out whe🦄re he will be.
Stealing The Schedule
Gaius' movements are tracked on Gaius Maro's Schedule, found inside the outpost. There will be a single guard inside that will prevent you from swiping the document.
It is not a crime to read the schedule, puzzlingly enough. If your character has a photographic memory, you can read the schedule and screenshot it without breaking any laws.
As a skilled assassin, you should have no trouble stealthily killing him and stealing the schedule. It tells you the following.

Killing Gaius
The easiest way to achieve your primary objective would be to butcher him out in the wilds. While convenient, this method will forfeit the bonus and should be avoided.
It would be best to use the schedule and pick a city to wait for him there. Gaius will deviate from the schedule i♔f he spots you while traveling. Not to mention how long it will take to follow him along.
Killing Gaius inside a city poses its own challenges. With guards and witnesses aplenty, getting away with murdering him would be difficult. It would be best to choose a city ahead of time and scout out his intended locations.
Broadly speaking, attacking at night would be best because he is usually in the company of others during the day. Gaius will sleep in the same place that the guards do. Waiting for the guards to go to sleep and killing him when no one is watching is a safe plan.
Skyrim has plenty of methods to kill, and you can adopt an approach that suits you best. If you have the perks for it, you could 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:reverse-pickpocket poison into his inventory or stealthily summon Daedra to kill him while you hide.
If you are struggling to assassinate Gaius stealthily, you can instead try to legally kill him in the open. In Skyrim, murder is against the law. While this should come as no surprise, you will only be charged with murder if two conditions are met.
- The witnesses saw you land the first blow.
- The witnesses can identify you.
Using Self-Defense
You can taunt Gaius by talking to him and informing him of his imminent demise. He will become angry and attack you. So long as a guard sees him hit you first, whatever happens next is considered self-defense.
There will be no legal repercussions for killing him in this context, allowing you to kill him within a city and safely plant the evidence.
Using An Alternate Form
If you can transform into a werewolf or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Vampire Lord without being seen, you cannot be identified as the murderer.
Transforming into either form is a criminal offense.
Bear in mind that bystanders will turn hostile and attempt to kill you. You will also have to return to the body to plant the evidence.
Finishing Breaching Security
With the deed done, return to the Sanctuary and inform Gabriella. You will find that something has gone wrong, starting the quest The Cure for Madness.
She will also award you with a bonus, should you have earned it. You will receive a miscellaneous quest to meet Olava the Feeble in Whiterun.
