You will also need to have a soul gem of the appropriate size in your inventory. It's a good idea to have a small stock of Soul Gems on yo⛎u, so you can trap souls as you come across thꩵem.

How To Enchant Your Gear

First, you'll want to select the gear to enchant. This is the first tab on the left, and all enchantable gear you have in your in﷽ventory will show up here, from armor, to clothing, and weapon﷽s.

Select The Soul Gem

Next, you'll select the Soul Gem to use for the initial enchantment. The more impressive the soul gem, the more potent the enchantment will 🃏be. But, it's not necessarily always important to use a larger Soul Gem on every item; it depends on the enchantment.

This comes most into play when enchanting weapons. The more impressive the Soul Gem you use, the more damage your weapon will deal, or the more uses it'll have until it needs to be recharged.

Select Your Enchantment

Once you've selected your gear and you've chosen which Soul Gem you'd like to use, you can choose from a variety of enchantments. There🎐 will be slight variations depending on the item that you're en𒀰chanting, particularly between gear and weapons.

Gear Enchanting

Gear enchantments don't typically ever need recharged. These enchantments are static, passive effects if you're wearing the gear. These can range from things like damage mit♏igation for certain damage types, the ability to breathe underwater, to creating light that follows you around, and more.

Weapon Enchanting

An enchanted dagger in Oblivion Remastered.

Enchanting a weapon is quite an involved process. For one, you can add multiple different enchantments on the same weapon, though the enchantment its🐻elf will be of lesser quality for splitting the effect.

There are also multiple different UI elements when e♉nchanting a weapon that aren't immediately o🅘bvious:

  • On the bottom right is the gold cost of the enchantment. This can vary drastically, from almost nothing to thousands.
  • On the bottom left is a lightning symbol, and this can be thought of as the fuel for the enchantment. The left number represents the fuel cost of the enchantment that you're trying to make, while the right number is the maximum fuel that the soul gem you used can provide.
  • The candle in the center represents the number of uses the item you're enchanting will have before it needs to be refilled.
  • Magnitude represents the strength of the effect, area is the radius that will be affected by your effect, and duration represents the length of the enchantment effect. All of these sliders are going to affect the values at the bottom.

How To Refill Your Enchantments

Recharging a dagger with a soul gem in Oblivion Remastered.

Weapon enchantments will need refilled, and you'll do this with Soul Gems. The more impressive the soul gem, the more fuel it will provide for the enchantment. Many times, a petty Soul Gem will refill the gauge🌊 by a portion of the bar, while a lesser or larger might refill the bar entirely.
