By now, you’ve almost certainly seen all the big headlines from San Diego Comic-Con 2024. Marvel held its annual panel in Hall H where footage from upcoming MCU entries like Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts debuted before the Russo Brothers revealed Avengers: Doomsday and the MCU’s Victor Von Doom: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Robert Downey Jr. We also saw the reveal of168澳洲幸运5开奖网: Mortal Kombat 1ꦉ&rsq🐭uo;s next Kombat Pack, which includes Ghostface, Conan, and the T-1000. There were panels and trailer debuts for , 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Like A Dragon: Yakuza, and , alongside much more.
What you may not have seen are many of the experiences and events designed exclusively for those attending SDCC. Offsite event😼s and fan ‘activations’, as they’re called now, are some of the best things about attending Comic-Con in person, but very few ever get to experience them. Even if you make it to San Diego for the convention, many of these special events are highly exclusive ❀and difficult to get access to, and once the convention ends, they’re gone forever.

💮 What Was Your Favorite Announcement At San Diego Comic-Con?
Was it the RDJ as Doctor Doom thing? Because I keep hearing about the RDJ as Doctor Doom thing. Anyway, mine was probably the live-action comedy Star Trek sh🌼ow - but man, I did not like the look of that Star Trek: Section 31 ꩲtrailer.
While much of our SDCC coverage is focused on exclusive interviews, like this one with Magic the Gathering’s: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mark Rosewater oജn the new Bloomburrow expansion, or this interview with the directors of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon Age: The Veilguard, w🐽e also tried to capture the experience of being in person at the convention so that those watching from home can get a taste of what it’s like to at﷽tend Comic-Con, sans the massive crowds. Here are some of our favorite experiences from SDCC 2024.
Shaun of the Dead’s Winchester Tavern
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Shaun of the Dead graced San Diego Comic-Con with one of the coolest pop-up experiences in years. Inside the 520 5th Avenue space downtown was a faithful recreation of the Winchester Tavern, comple𝕴te with piled up furniture, a corpse stuffed in a jukebox, and the Winchester rifle itself. Fans got to step inside the famous setting from the film and enjoy a cold pint while they wait for all this convention stuff to blow over.
While visiting the Winchester Tavern, we spent some time with 10:10 Games’ Arthur Parsons and played the Shaun of the ꧂Dead level from the upcoming Funko Fusion. The demo was playable for attendees on an old CRT television tucked in the corner of the bar. Check out our full interview with Parsons to get a better look at the game and the Winchester Tavern.
Mikey’s Pizza
Collectible giant Super7 hosted a one-night-only TMNT takeover of San Diego’s TNT Pizza, transforming it into the turtle’s themed Mikey’s Pizza. Guests could purchase a variety of Super7 ex🐼clusive TMNT collectibles and merch while ‘enjoying’ Mikey’s Special: an unholy abomination of a pizza that included toasted marshmallow, anchovies, strawberries, sausage, and jelly beans. There was good ‘ol fashioned pepperoni too for those who weren’t brave enough to try a slice ꦕmade Mikey’s way (me).
The line for Mikey’s Pizza was one of the longest we saw for any offsite event throughout the weekend, which is either a testament to TMNT’s cultural staying power, or the pull of free pizza. Check out 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:our Super7 booth tour and watch our Daꦦy 2 Recap to see what Mikey’s Pizza was all about.
Enter The Forbidden Zone! Planet of the Apes Experience
To advertise all ten Planet of the Apes movies coming to Hulu on August 3, 20th Century Studios brought a special interactive exhibit to SDCC called Enter The Forbidden Zones. After watching a short video timeline of the films, attendees were let loose in a museum full of props, costumes, and prosthetics from the entire history ofඣ the franchise.
Once through the museum portion, the exhibit transitioned into a series of photo ops, including one with a real-life falcon like the ones featured in Kingdom of the Planet of th🥂e Apes. There was also a stunt performer giving tutorials on how to run on all fours using crutches, just like the ape actors did in the film. Attendees were given a Forbidden Zone poster and a motion photo of themselves riding horseback and catching a flying hawk at the end of the tour. Check out our recap of the experience to see what it was like inside.
IMDboat featuring Disney Lorcana
Disney Lorcana made a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance at San Diego Comic-Con this year as a partner on the annual IMDboat. The weekend-long event took place on a three-level yacht parked in the marina behind the convention center.
Once on board, guests were treated to a free pack of Disney Lorcana cards from the most recent set, Ursula’s Return. On display were products from both Ursula’s Return and the new 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Gateway learn-to-play board game, as well as a master set of Ursula’s Return in a binder that guests could peruse. There was also a photo op for Rings of Power, custom ice cream bars, a celebrity trivia game, and free DiG🧸iorno pizza. After getting your IMDboat passport stamped at every activity, attendees were💧 rewarded with an IMDb captain’s hat.
