Team17 h🔥as announced today that it is scrapping its controversial MetaWorms NFT project after significant backlash from both fans and partnered developers.
The publisher announced the news via the official Team17 Twitter account earlier today, claiming that it has scrapped the project due to feedback from "development partners" and "game communities" and the "concerns they've expressed". Team17 has now claimed that it will "step back" from the NFT space altogether.

With the amount of developers in the gaming industry that have had to scrap potential NFT plans over the past year, you'd think that Team17 would have seen this backlash coming.
