Love works in mysterious ways.

We'll help you find Vidar in the wild and free him s💛o you can decide whether to help him in his quest for vengeance or hand him over to the Crows as a bargaining chip. Here's everything you need to know to make that choice and stick with it.

Where To Find Vidar

To start the Spread Your Wings quest, you'll need to find and free a man named Vidar. He's locked in a cage at a bandit camp near the abandoned village, a bit southeast from Roscree. Cross the bridge and find the camp, then slay the bandits.

You'll need a key to unlock the cage, which can be found in a nearby crate. Unlock the cage and ask Vidar any questions you have. When you ask where the bandits were taking him,♚ you can agree to accompany him. He'll then tell you to meet him at Rosc🌄ree, an abandoned village nearby.

The bandits arღe part of ☂an organization called the Crows, and Vidar is their target.

Should You Side With Vidar Or The Crows?

Self criticizing Vidar's morals in an abandoned village.

When you reach Roscree, you'll see that no one other than you and Vidar are there. As you approach, he'll comment on this just for the Crows to pop out of the shadows. Here, you'll hear another side of the story. While Vidar tells you that the Crows are master manipulators and 🌠r♎uined his family, the Crows tell a different tale.

The Crows explain that Vidar killed his own kin, and they want to use him as a bargaining chip to get a Wyrd researcher to work with them. They don't plan to kill the estranged pict, but they do intend to let his people decide his fate. All they ask is that you hand Vidar over.

Ask wha🐻t questions you like, but the choice is yours. The evidence is more of a he-sai🌸d she-said situation.

Siding With Vidar

If you side with Vidar, you'll have a fight on your hands. Self is a powerful Crow, and she's accompanied by several outlaws and highwaymen that will pounce on you. Vidar can hold his own, so don't worry about him.

When you eliminate the Crows, speak with Vidar. He's glad you've decided to help him. You can either continue to help him, which unlocks a questline based on removing the Crows' influence on Kamelot and Avalon, or you can go your separate ways.

Make sure to loot the bodies so you can turn in the branded skin for bounties and collect Self's unique set of Crow armor.

How To Join The Crows

If you choose to hand Vidar over to his own people, there's no fight. Instead, you're initiated into the Crows by Self. You'll receive your own set of armor and the rank of Hatchling.

Additionally, you'll get your first assignment. This unlocks a different questline where you work with the Crows to eliminate specific targets that threaten the balance in Kamelot and Alavon.

Whose Side Should You Take?

Ultimately, it depends on your preferences. If you want to be a stealthy assassin that works in the shadows to influence the courts of Kamelot, you'll want to hand Vidar over to the Crows. Vidar is willing to go to any length for his goals while the Crows strive for balance.

However, the Crows are a manipulative and dangerous bunch that don't take no for an answer. Being rid of them will allow Kamelot and Avalon the freedom to make their own choices without the influence of the shadows.
