Thankfully, we can help you weigh the pros and con𒉰s so you can make an educated guess. Of course, you can also use this information to steer Avalon into chaos, if you so wi🔥sh. The land is yours to shape, and there's nothing that can stop you and the Once and Future King from ruling it with an iron hand.
Where To Find Captain Breandan
After you're left shipwrecked in the Horns of the South, make your way to the west to find the Keepers. Make your way inside the fort and speak with Fearghas to learn where Captain Breandan is. Fearghas won'💯t tell you right away, not unless you can🧔 do one of the following:
- Best him in a duel. This is not recommended, as he's a tough opponent and you're (quite literally) fresh off the boat.
- Donate 500 gold. The money goes towards supporting veterans, but you're unlikely to have this kind of money, let alone be willing to part with it.
- Do him a favor. You'll have to help out the community by eliminating a local necromancer, as there are a lot more undead nearby than usual.
Once you gain Fearghas' favor, he'll tell you that the Captain isn't even in the fort. He put it on lockdown and left, taking off for the Dal Riata tribe that set up camp by the All-Mother Temple in the northeast.
Make your way there to find him. You'll know you're in the right place when you find barricades surrounding the steps to the temple entrance. Maybn is out front, standing guard. You may be able to convince her to let you through, but more than likely, you'll have to convince her with your fists.
You can approach the temple without the tribe's blessing, but you will receive a bounty for trespassing and t🅠he tribe will be hostile.
After beating her in combat, speak with Vrann in her tent. This will start the Act of Kindness quest, where you'll have to help her make peace with the Keepers before she lets you into the temple.
You'll have several options for completing this quest, either by crafting a potion or a ceremonial axe as a sign of good will. Deliver the gift to Fearghas, then return to Vrann with the good news. It's enough to grꦆant you entry to thꦦe temple.
Head up the barricaded steps reach the temple, having gained favor with the tribe, you will finally find Breandan. Here, he unveils his plan for the south and asks you to do the impossible: kill Galahad the Pure, a knight of the round table.
Should You Kill Galahad Or One-Eye?
You have a choice to make, and it's a heavy one. You can either follow Breandan's orders and kill Galahad the Pure, who has been terrorizing the south, or you can take matters into your own hands and cast your lot with Kamelot.
Both choices will help you claim Excalibur, but the con🐓sequences will vary. Regardless of your choice, ❀you'll need to find the fort where Galahad and his men have holed up.
There is❀ no "right" answer, but the main story implies that siding with the south is your best option.
If you're not sure what to do, you can speak with Arthur at your campfire to hear his thoughts on the matter. Unfortunately, he doesn't offer mu🔴ch advice since his memory is impaired.

How To Kill Galahad The Pure
If you follow through with what Captain Breandan asked, you'll have your work cut out for you. Galahad the Pure is a powerful and cruel knight, and he will wipe꧙ the floor with you if you aren't ready.
Make sure to bring plenty of potions.
Try to keep your distance during the fight, though watch out for his ranged spells. There's plenty to use as cover during the battle, and you can even get Galahad stuck on his own pyre.
He won't take damage from it🦄, but it prevents him from movin🎐g towards you.
Once he's slain, the guards outside will come rushing in. You'll have to kill all of them, along with the ones outside the fort, to escape. This is incredibly difficult for lower-level characters, but it can be done.
K🍰illing Galahad the Pure has the following consequences:
- You'll gain access to Sewal's Tomb and learn the truth.
- The tribes will unite and work with the Keepers to gain independence.
- Traditionalist will never support you.
- There will be peace in the south.
This is the best course of act🌳ion long-term, though it's much more complicated. However, it's the only way to progress through this quest and reach the end of it.

How To Kill One-Eye
If you decide to side with Galahad the Pure, you won't have to 🐽do much fighting. As a Knight of the Round Table, he's quite powerful and will handle ꦅthe combat himself.
If you side with Galahad, the quest will fail and there's no going back. Instead, the quest Shuffli𒀰ng The Deck will begin.
Killing One-Eye and Breandan will have the following consequenc𝔉es:
- You won't learn the truth hidden in Sewal's Tomb.
- There won't be peace in the south.
- The tribes will not unite against Kamelot and you won't be welcome.
- Traditionalists will support you.
This course of action is not recommended for benevolent characters, though it is much easier to handle if you prefer to avoid combat. You'll only have to fight some Dal Riata outside the All-Mother Temple, and you'll have help from Galahad's troops.

Where To Find Sewal's Tomb
After you slay Galahad the Pure and return to the temple to speak with Captain Breandan. He gives you a seal from One-Eye and tells you to uncover the truth behind the stone statue in Sewal's Tomb. You can find the entrance to the tomb in the Sunken Village, all🅺 the way to the ⭕east.
Inside, you'll face off against a couple of corpse eaters, then drop down past the portcullis into a pool by the statue. Three undead are here, worshiping the statue, but they're not hostile.
Not🉐ice the armor they're wearing? You can't attack these thr🌃ee devout undead.
Head to the back of the statue and place the seal to ope🤪n the door leading further into the tomb. Make your way down🤡 the stairs to learn the truth by speaking with the individual in the furthermost pod.
With this information, return to Captain Breandan. He asks you to convince Fearghas to visit the tomb and see it for himself. Do this, and report it to Captain Breandan to learn the secret to obtaining the legendary sword Excalibur.
