Palamedes' Shield Tombs, Explained
As you explore Cuanacht, you can come across two different tombs – the Tomb of Sir Gawain and the Tomb of Sir Dagonet.
Unlike normal caves, crypts, and other locations, these tombs are for former members of the Knights Of The Round Table and other important figures in Arthur's circle.
Because of this, they can only be opened if you've obtained the fragment of Arthur's Soul from Palamedes' Shield during the main story, similar to the tombs in the Forlorn Swords and the one in the Horns Of The South.
- This will require you to complete the quests 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Apocalypticists and its subsequent quest, Have A Nice Trip, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Menhir Rites, which requires you to complete both the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Corrupted Temple's quests and the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Abyss of Sagremor's quests.
Once this portion of the main story is done, and you've obtained Palamedes' Shield, you'll now be able to go around to these different tombs and open them up by interacting with the altar with the shield insignia on it by the doorway.
The Tomb Of Sir Gawain
The Tomb of Sir Gawain is located west of Cuanacht, the city, and can be found on a cliff above the river. The easiest way to reach it is to start at the Wyrdtower fast travel point, then go south down the road until you find a path curving down to the cliffside, cross the small bridge, then follow the path down to the tomb.
If you've met Ó Cuinn Cinnamonsage on the island behind the beach where you first woke up after the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Island Asylum, you'll find him next to this bridge now, 🧔and he'll in🐼vite you to share his nearby home, the Cozy Cave, if you need it.
Interact with the altar outside, and when you enter, you will automatically start the side quest His Heart Was Greener Than Mine. Begin following the path, and you'll encounter some enemies to fight as you make your way down: Curlghasts, and🏅 a few Dryads.
When you reach the large chamber at the bottom, there'll be some Marrowghasts to fight, both blind and non-blind variants, and you can find three chests. There's one behind the tree, one on the hill above you need to dig up, and another to dig up beneath the staircase.
Jump across the broken bridge and speak to Sir Bertilak in the circular room at the end of the hall. As part of the side quest, you'll need to challenge Sir Bertilak to a duel.
First, you'll fight Sir Bertilak, and he 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:fights similarly to Galahad, with powerful two-handed strikes, a ranged magic attack from his axe, a trio of fireballs as another ranged attack, and a magic shield that blocks and repels damage.
Once he's defeated, Sir Gawain will awaken, and you'll have to fight him next. He has a similar moveset to Sir Bertilak, but much stronger, and his regular attacks inflict poison, which can quickly chew threw your health if you don't offset it by consuming food or with a potion.
- Sir Bertilak's body can be looted to obtain the Green Knight Axe and the Green Knight armor set, consisting of his Gauntlets, Chestpiece, Sabatons, Helm, Greaves, and Cloak.
- Sir Gawain's body can be looted to obtain the Oath of Famine greatsword, and Sir Gawain's Weathered armor set, consisting of his Gauntlets, Cuirass, Sabons, and Helm.
After they're dead and put to rest, you can take the stairs behind Gawain's throne to his actual crypt, and next to it is a curving path that will take you back to the entrance.
You can have a conversation with King Arthur about Gawain at your 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:next fueled Bonfire after completing the tomb and His Heart Was Greener Than Mine.
Upon leaving, you'll be visited by Fionola, a member of the Royal Geographers' Guild, and you can choose to join them, though this doesn't start a side quest with her.
The Tomb Of Sir Dagonet
The Tomb of Sir Dagonet is located on the northern side of Cuanacht, and to find it, you'll want to start at either the Kamelot Gate fast travel point or, if you haven't found that yet, the Plains fast travel point.
From either of them, head southeast towards the large mountain formation that cuts through the region, following the main path going to the east through the gate and past the ruins filled with Wyrdspawn.
Once you start getting close to the Forlorn Swords Northern Gate, break away from the main path and veer off to the south, and follow the partially hidden stairs up to the tomb in the cliff wall.
Inside, you won't automatically start a quest this time, but there's still more to do. Dagonet's tomb is filled with all sorts of traps, and the first one is a fast-firing arrow trap on the wall. Run or slide past it, and you'll get to a long hallway.
The first section doesn't have any traps, but the next part has two sections of wall arrow traps, and, like before, you'll need to run or slide past them or risk dying from the arrows' high damage.
When you turn the corner at the end of the hallway, there's going to be a flamethrower trap coming from a gargoyle statue, and all yᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚou need to do is wait for the pause in the fl𒁃ames before running around either side of it.
If you take the path to the right past the gargoyle, there's a hidden doorway in the wall that leads to a crypt area with an Undead and a wall tunnel back to the gargoyle room.
Take the doorway to the left to continue, and one of the paintings in the hall will fly off the wall and try to damage you. At the bottom of the stairs, you'll come to a branching pathway, with a center alcove with a casket you ♐can loot.
Both paths lead to the same location, but have different traps to deal with. The left path features more wall arrow traps, while the right path introduces ghostly hands that reach out from the paintings on the walls.
In the next room, there's a hidden doorway in the wall that leads to a fatal drop, and the path forward is down the stairs and past an Undead enemy.
The next trap is a large swinging cleaver, and you can run past it when it reaches either end of its path. Another painting and some ghost hands will try to hurt you near the crypts with caskets on them, then go up the stairs, into the hole in the wall, and jump down the hole to the next floor.
There are more swinging cleavers in the next hallway, and they move faster than before. Run past the first two cleavers, keep close to the wider flooring on the right side of the hall to avoid the pit, then jump across to the bit of floor before the third cleaver, then run past it.
In the next room, there's another hidden door on the right with a casket inside, then another painting to dodge, and at the bottom of the room, you'll have to go through a hidden door on the left to keep progressing.
Defeat the Lost Knight, then go up the stairs and down into the main crypt. You can loot the Last Jet set from a sack inside the crypt, which has Gloves, Doublet, Slippers, Cowl, and Breeches. Take the portal door at the end of the hall, and you'll be returned to the entrance.
Outside, you'll have another conversation with Fionola, from whom you can get more information about Sir Dagonet, and she'll suggest you continue searching for the other tombs.
