T🌊ainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon - 10 Beginner Tips
Avalo🔜n is a cruel and unforgiving place. Here are the best ways to survive and thrive there!
Due to the kind of game this is, we can't possibly indicate where every item is located. From mugs to erotica, the asylum is stuffed with things to pick up. However, we will lead you to the location of ever༒y piece of valuable equipment, every noteworthy item, and every recipe.
Where To Find The Guard Key And Menhir Figure
One of the first key items you'll want to grab hold of is the guard key, which will let you access a number of the cells scattered throughout the prison. In order to get it, take a right outside your cell once Caradoc frees you and head to the end of the hall. You'll find the remains of a few guards that Caradoc dispatched while coming to your rescue. Loot the one who's sitting𒆙 at the table to find the Guard Key.
You can also grab weap♒ons and armor🍌 from these dead guards, of course.
Behind the guard dead at the table, you'll see a little bookshelf. Search it, and you will find a Menhir Figure. Using a Menhir Figure will permanently increase your HP. So, grab it and use it.
Acquiring The Cooking For The Resistant, Part 1 Recipes
In the same room where you just found the Guard Key and Menhir Figure, search the small table near the fireplace. On top of it, you'll find Co𓆉oking For The Resistant, Part 1, which is a document th🧸at provides you with a number of recipes.
Make sure to search the cabinet next to the fireplace as well. You'll find a bunch of cooking ingredients, but most notably, you'll find lockpicks, which you will need to ✃access a number of 𒁃treasures located in this dungeon.
Acquiring The Old Letter To Gain The Unforgettable Quest
On the main path, you'll see a guard who died while sitting on a chair. Use the Guard Key to open the door beside t🅷hem, and loot the chest inside to get t♏en lockpicks and The Old Letter. Read the Old Letter to begin the Unforgettable Quest.
Where To Find The Pickaxe
If you travel left out of your cell, it won't be long until a pair of zombies knock a cell door off of its hinges and attack you. Once you take these zombies out, keep heading down the hallway, but keep an eye on the wall to your left - you should see a pickaxe stuck in the wall down the hallway from the zombie cell.
Small Health Potion And Small Mana Potion Recipe
Beside the pickaxe is a heavily damaged section of wall, but we're going to ignore it for a second. If you head down the hallway you'll see a note pinned to the door. Read that note, and yoജu'll learn the recipe for the small health potion and the small mana potion.
Acquiring The Blood Transfusion Spell
Break the damaged section of wall beside where the pickaxe was. Once you do, you will need to kill two red priests. Now, look for an altar in the nearby area, and grab the document🃏 that is sitting on top of it. Read it to gain the Blood Transfusion 🍎Spell.
Acquiring The Burning Embers Spell And Ninian's Tags
From the altar where you obtained the Blood Transion spell, head down the hallway, you'll open up a door and find yourself in a pantry. Loot the pantry, and stuff your pockets with all the food, then open the next door, and you'll be in the laboratory. You will need to kill another Red Priest here. Once you've killed them, you'll find a man strapped to a table: this is Ninien. Speak to Ninian, and he'll ask you to free him from his s𓃲uffering.
There is no way for you to convince Ninian to escape with you. You need to💧 kill him.
Ninien will tell you to take his tags (this will be useful later in the game, once you reach South of the Horns). Kill him and then loot his body to get Ninien's Tags. Now, search the table beside Ninian to find the Burning Embers spell as well as a few potions.
Acquiring The Origin Potion
From the Laboratory, look for a hole in the wall. 𒐪Crouch down, and enter into this area. Take your first left, and you will drop down into a cell. Exit this cell (you'll need to pick the lock), and then enter the cell across from it. On the table, you'll find an Origin Potion. Origin Potions are how you respec, so, make sure to grab this!
Acquiring The Lesser Health Ring
Leave this cell, and take a right. You will find yourself in a room where a bunch of Red Priests have been slaughtered by Conchur. Speak to Conchur. After he leaves, pick the lock to the cell in the back of this room. Enter it to see a Red Priest's corpse and the corpse of a Buggane. Loot the priest's corpse to get the Lesser Health Ring.
If you say "I don't like your tone" to Conchur, he will attack you. He is pretty tough though, so be prepared for a difficult encounter. If you kill Conchur, you'll get the Raider's Skirt, Rogue's Steps, and Raider Greaves. This equipment will be way too hig💧h level for you, but it does have some very nice buffs.
Once you've acq⛎uired this ring, you could head down the hallway, past the cell with the Origin Potion, and enter into a large room with Red Priests, but for the sak꧅e of getting everything, we're going to recommend that you head back the way you came.
Where To Find The Laboratory Key
Progressing along the main path, you will enter a hallway that stands above a large room. You'll be able to hear some red priests chattering below you. You should see the body of a Red Priest that Caradoc must have killed. Search that corpse, and you'll find the Laboratory Key.
This key will take you back into the room with Ninian.🐷 So, it isn't actually useful if you have already used the pickaxe to break into that area.
Acquiring The Shovel
Head down the stairs from the body with the Laboratory Key and around the corner.ꦦ There will 🥀be a shovel propped up against the wall. Grab it, as it will be your key to digging up some treasure.
Acquiring The Bow
Once you've followed the main path, past the hallway with the Laboratory Key, and past the shovel, you'll see Caradoc on your left. Ignore him for now and loot the corpse of the guard near him. You wi🔴ll acquire the very short bow. This is crucial for a miniboss fight co🅠ming up.
Acquiring The Blood Sucker Potion Recipe
Once you leave the hallway where you found the Laboratory Key, you'll head down a set of stairs - there will be a hole in the wall on your right. Crawl in through that hole, and it will lead you directly to the massive room you passed over when you got the Laboratory Key. There will be two Red Priests and a Guard inside. After you kill them, look for the table with potions on top of it. After you grab the potions, read the document beside them toℱ get the Blood Sucker Potio♚n Recipe.
Acquiring The Lesser Mana Ring
Once you have reached Caradoc, head down the stairs that are to the right of him. On your right, there will be a hole in the wall. This isn't the same hole as the one that took you to the room where you found the Blood Sucker Potion recipe. Once down here, you will find Sirja. She's injured, so offer her a healing potion. After giving her one, she'll return the kindness by gifting you 😼the Lesser Mana Ring.
You can kill Sirja. However, unless you are playing the game on the easiest difficulty, this is going to be quite the task. She is extremely durable and hits hard. You can take her armor if you beat her, but unlike Conchur's, it is extremely unimpressive. However, you will get Sirja's Cape which will improve the loot you gain, so your horrible crime won't go completely unrewarded.
Defeating The Frantic Berserker And Acquiring The Thorn Helm And Athlete's Pride Ring
In the cavernous area with Sirja, make your way to a massive pile of corpses. Next to these bodies there is a locked door. You'll be able to pick the lock, which will lead you to another room with another door - don't enter it. Instead, climb up the rocky section to your right. Once up there, move forward through the hole cautiously. You will enter the Frantic Berserker's cell. From up above, shoot him with your bow or your Burning Embers spell.
Once you've killed the Frantic Berserker, loot their corpse to get the Thorn Helm and Athlete's Pride ring. This helmet is the best one you'll find in the ea♛rly part of the game, and has a pretty fantastic effect which will cause it to deal damage to anyone who attacks you. The ring provides you with a little more stamina.
Defeating The Wailing Effigy And Acquiring The Grief-Torn Armor
Fighting the Wailing Effigy should be the last thing you do before you leave the Asylum, as he is a pretty tough encounter. To get to him, you simply need to travel down the steps on the main path. So, move past Caradoc and follow the steps down to the bottom. Open the door with the Guard'🉐s Key, and you wil👍l fight him.
The Wailing Effigy has a two-handed sword which has solid range and deals hefty damage. However, his sword swings are relatively slow, so you can stay out of range (or even better, parry them). However, he also has a fire spell. So, if you stay too far away he'll likely light you up with it. Thankfully, the room you fight him in has two pillars that you can weave behind to help block his ma🌌gic. Use them strategically to win the day.
