In a world of magic like in Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, strange occurrences are common, even without the Wyrdness and its innate dangers getting involved. One wrong move, and you might end u🍸p cursed, growing horns in strange places, dead, or in Pup's case,ဣ trapped in magical stone.

Deep in the depths of the Crystal 🅰Cave, you'll find poor Pup, a Dál Riata man who's been unfortunately trapped in the cave for days, stuck inside a wall of magical stones that whisper to him. No one else is coming down to the mine – you're the only one who can find a way to ♚free him from his prison.

How To Free Pup From The Whispering Stones

The Pebble In The Pit is a somewhat hidden quest, and can only be started by speaking to Pup in the Crystal Cave. The entrance to the mine is located in a cliff wall on the river southeast of the city of Cuanacht, near where it splits into three directions.

Head inside, and you'll find a mine with a lot of different levels you'll have to go down, since the lift by the entrance is broken. You'll find several Corpse Eaters near the beginning, and then Marrowghasts of both blind and non-blind variants as you go deeper.

You'll start seeing mineable Whispering Stone nodes along the walls as you reach the bottom. Make sure to mine all of these that you see, as they're key to the quest, and this will prevent you from needing to backtra✤ck as ꦓmuch and find them later.

On the bottom floor, you'll find a man named Pup trapped in a massive wall of Whispering Stones, and you can speak to him to officially start The Pebble In The Pit.

Completing this side quest will require two tasks. First, you'll need to mine every Whispering Stone node possible, and there are 12 of them throughout the bottom three floors of the mine. They look similar to Wyrdstone Ore, but with a white glow instead, so they'll stand out.

Next, go to the stone wall adjacent to where Pup is stuck, and you'll get a prompt to mine the rock, which has a lighter coloring than the other stone around it. Doing so will open up a small alcove with a second rock wall to go through, and yo🅠u'll end up in a long tunnel.

As you get towards the chamber at the end, you'll run into three Frostbitten Warrior enemies you'll need to kill, which are slow but can do some high damage♕ if they get to you, and also 𒐪drop their weapons as loot.

Once they're dead and the Whispering Stones are gone, the quest will update, and you can go back to where Pup is.

Pup will have disappeared, though, and you can leave the mine now via the lift in one of the rooms adjacent to the bottom floor's central chamber for a quick exit.

As soon as you leave, you'll get into a conversation with Pup at the entrance, where he'll eventually tell you to speak with Kvorr.

Kvorr can be found at a camp in some ruins just past the bridge leading to the southeastern gate to Fཧorlorn Swords, and he'll be wearing an ornate suit of armor.

Speak to him about Pup to complete the quest, netting you around 2000 EXP as a reward, and starting the next side quest in the chain, Call Of The Wintermoon, and unlocking the recipe for the Stonewarden Talisman.
