How To Make Sour Herring And Cheese
When you meet the curious character named Rumpolt Finnini, he'll have a request for you. Having been trapped in his kitchen for gods know how long, he wants you to acquire the ingredients for his culinary masterpiece–Sour Herring and Cheese.
He wants you to understand how important this dish is, as he has one of the most refined palettes in Avalon. Rumpolt will mark the location on your map so you can go fish up some really special herring.
Where To Get A Really Special Herring
On your map, there's a marker placed on the small island to the easternmost reaches of the Horns of the South. Swim there from the Ruined Broch to find an old fishing boat and rod waiting for you.
Pick up the rod and cast a line into the sea where the marker sows you. You'll have to wait for the fish to bite bef🍬ore you ca✅n reel it in, so be patient.
If there's no bite within three clicks of the🍌 bobber, try casting the line again.
Once you get the really special herring reeled in, head back to the underground kitchen where you met Rumpolt.
Where To Get Cheese
Head down the stairs and pick the door on lock on the door to the right to enter Rumpolt's kitchen. He won't mind if you use it, and you'll find plenty of cheese stockpiled here.
Grab a piece, then use the kitchen's cooking pot to put both a cheese wedge and really special herring together. You'll get a very aromatic dish that Rumple can smell a mile away. Bring it to him to complete the quest and unlock the Rumpolt's Revenge spell!
How To Use Rumpolt's Revenge
With this spell, you can consume a portion of your HP to summon a cheese wedge, so you effectively have an unlimited supply of cheese at your fingertips.
Additionally, you can charge the spell while targeting a living creature, like a deer or a person. Doing so will put a cheese icon above their head, and when the icon is fully gone, the target will explode into dozens of cheese wedges!
It won't work on every target, but as you continue to get stronger, ꦛkeep🐟 testing it out!
To unlock the Ironic achievement/trophy, you'll need to equip the spell and use it on Rumpolt. It's oddly satisfying to watch him turn into cheese, and he's the first NPC you can easily use it on without getting caught.
Note that using the spell will trigger detection and count as attacking, so you wil𒁏l want♊ another weapon in your offhand in case you need to fight.
Turning someone into cheese is no joke! The NPC will die and drop all of their items while also leaving a large pile of chees🐼e behind.
