Do You Think Microsoft Will Treat The Next Xbox With Less Marketing "Urgency"?𒀰
In my estimation, it seems reason🌞ably probable that Microsoft will still launch successor hardware to the Xbox Series X|S, despite some considerable setbacks in its once-impressive success in this arena. Assuming that transpires, I have a hunch that focus will be less substantial with regard to Xbox Evolution, or Xbox 9000, or whatever they end up labeling it. In light of their whole "This is an Xbox" campaign, within which multiple devices are cheekily given the moniker, my thought process is that the next real Xbox will be marketed toward "the enthusiast demographic", or however else Phil Spencer couches it. Yet it will still exist, because Xbox Game Pass growth seems largely linked to the Series X|S. What say you? Any guesses? Have I missed a beat with my armchair analysis?

Exclusives have been the primary weapon in the console wars since the beginning. If Xbox is giving up that advantage, even temporarily, they must be pretty darn confident that they can make up the difference - I assume via GamePass subscriptions? I think it's a risky gamble, and even if it works, don't expect to see Nintendo and Sony freeing up their IPs to follow suit any time soon.

Fan groups are pleading with Microsoft not to abandon those who prefer physical copies of their games. But it's becoming dramatically apparent that, save for limited runs of certain titles, Xbox doesn't have much future in the on-disc sphere.
