As an 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:avowed Marvel Cinematic Universe h💎ater, I didn’t go into James Gunn’s with high expectations. I haven’t enjoyed many of the superhe🅠ro movies or shows I’ve watched in the last decade – so many of them overflowed with spectacle and expensive CGI, but weren’t really ‘about’ anything other than a generic bad guy losing a fighꦛt.

That’s not to say none of them have been good, or attempted to dissect their themes. Black Panther said a lot of interesting things about colonialism and pan-Africanism. WandaVision was a long, creat💝ively adventurous exploration of grief, mother♒hood, and gender. Captain America: Civil War at least attempted to gesture at the implications of having power, though it wasn’t very smart about it.

Superman is not a very delicate or intellectual movie, but that doesn’t sto🌳p it from being great. It’s probably one of the best superhero movies made since the MCU established its chokehold on Hollywood. It’s made DC movies worth watching again (Robert Pattinson’s excellent The Batman notwithstanding). It’s what superhero movies are supposed to be.

Superman Ending And Post-Credits Scene Explained: ♊The DC Universe Is Growing

Superman told a ton of story, so we a🃏re parsing through the ending.

Superman Is, In A World Lacking Them, A Good Man

The poster for the 2025 Superman film, showing Superman flying upward with blue and red colours in the background.

Superman is not a perfect movie. It’s a little n🌼arratively cluttered, a little visually overstimulating, a little overstuffed with gestures at a wider upcoming cinematic universe. The pace is slightly rushed, some character motivations are confused, and I’m torn on how I feel about Lois Lane (played by Rachel Brosnahan) as a character.

But my god, is it a joy to watch. David Corenswet’s Superman/Clark Kent 🌺is an earnest, naive take on th🔥e character, and that earnestness permeates through the whole movie. He wants to do good, but he acts impulsively, not thinking through the consequences of his actions. Lois challenges him on the implications and optics of his power and thoughtlessness, and it’s clear he acts purely on his desire to do what’s right. He isn’t trying to manipulate global politics or act in the interests of any country. He just believes that all life is worth protecting.

I wasn’t🌸 represeꦺnting anything except for me, and doing good!

He’s a bleeding heart in a world too complicated to accommodate the simplicity of his principles. The jaded journalist Lois tells him, “You trust everyone, and you think♔ everyone you’ve ever met is beautiful.” He says, like a complete cornball, “Maybe that’s the real punk rock.”

But it’s true – his world is full of dan♌ger, whether that be in the form of giant city-destroying monsters or technocrats meddling in global politics and the fabric of existence for their own petty means. It is easy to be cynical, but Superman isn’t a cynic. He’s tender and sweet. He surprises Lois with dinner when she comes home from work. He watches videos of his parents to soothe himself. He lets his colleagues clown him without biting back. He’s not interested in machismo or ego, he just wants to do the right thing.

Santa Is Just Like Supermaജn ♛- You Keep Doing Him Wrong

🍬On Santa's specﷺial day, let's appreciate the real him, not an edgy wannabe.

There’s Right, And There’s Wrong

Superman looking defeated a a crowd heckles him in the background.

Part of what makes the film so great is thℱis prevailing message – those who have power must do what’s right. Lex Luthor (played by Nicholas Hoult), Superman’s archnemesis and the film’s antagonist, is portrayed not as a man with a high-minded philosophy in opposition to Superman’s, but as an insecure, petty man with deep pockets and a big brain that he uses for evil. His motive isn’t grandiose, but narrow. He wants Superman dead, because everyone lovesꦗ Superman despite him being an alien, and nobody loves him.

Of course, nobody loves him because he is a bad man. It’s almost laughable how close of an analogue he is to the technocrats in our own world. He’s unimaginably rich, cru꧙el and dismissive of his trophy girlfriend, and cares not for the safety of the world or his own employees if it means he gets what he wants. He creates global conflicts to get him nearer to achieving his petty goal of eliminating the world’s most popular alien. Superman uses his power for good, and Lex uses his for evil.

That global conflict, too, feels eerily similar to the two wars currently ongoing ♏in our time – Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and particularly Israel’s assault on Palesꦍtine.

The movie, like I said, is not delicate. It bashes you over the head with it💛s message. All life is worth protecting, even when it’s complicated, even when there are implications to 💦doing good. If you have power, you have to use it to protect people who don’t. It is the most optimistic superhero movie to come out of the last decade, and when we live in a world where evil proliferates, perpetrated by real life Lex Luthors, Superman isn’t just a vision of hope, but an indictment of the petty, small-minded men who destroy the world for their own benefits.

Also, Guy Gardner (Natha🌜n Fillion) and his f*ckass bob are worth the price of admi🦂ssion alone.
