Royal Seeds are a no-brainer - you get them at the end of each world. Badges are almost as straightforward - you get them in several ways, but every method will reveal itself in due time. Medals, on the other hand, are the ultimate symbols of completion in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Many players will not acquire all six, and that's totally fine; whether you derive enough additional fun from 100 percenting this game is very much a subjective thing.

But for those of us who want to do everything Wonder has in store for us, medals are Nintendo's official seal of recognition, if you will. And all but one of them will require extra legwork on your part than simply beating the game and saving the Flower Kingdom.

  • The first medal most players will receive is the one for completing the story. That is to say, taking the fight to Bowser and winning. Watching the credits roll. Just beating the game. Super Mario Bros. Wonder typically makes its medals more apparent from hereon out, by suggesting you search elsewhere as well.
  • Obtaining every Wonder Seed nets another medal. This isn't easy. It means finding secret exits, locating and completing in-course challenges, the whole shebang. It's proof you've figured out every way to finish every stage, as well as having purchased some from shops and so forth.
  • Along similar lines, you'll receive a medal for collecting every Flower Coin worth ten points, of which there are (in Mario tradition) three per course. Arguably as difficult as obtaining every Wonder Seed, but it'll also make you comfortable in nearly every course, content in the knowledge you've found them all!
  • Getting every badge also gets you a medal. This one's fairly easy.
  • Getting every Standee does the same. It may seem like a royal pain, but since the random generation system only costs ten Flower Coins, you'll have them all it in relatively short order.
  • Last but not least, there's a medal for touching the top of every flag post in every course. Depending on how good you are at this, it'll either nearly be yours already upon beating the game, or else it'll be nowhere near that et, and you might cry. Don't worry. We cried a little bit, too.
